Unfortunately another book that didn’t live up to my expectations! I found the book enjoyable enough but  the pacing of the plot was a bit slow, especially in the beginning. It took awhile for the story to pick up so I did find myself losing interest.

I found the second half of the book a lot easier to read, the story started to develop more and the suspense began to build up. I enjoyed the alternating POVs between each of the residents, it added more depth to the story and helped me get to know the characters more. I wasn’t expecting the twist in the last few chapters which was a pleasant surprise!

Overall, the book was slow to start but it managed to redeem itself abit in the second half, making it a decent read.

Unfortunately this book didn’t really live up to my expectations, from the start it was an intriguing and easy read, and found it to be well-written and have an engaging plot. I was initially hooked by the mystery surrounding Owen’s disappearance but as the story progressed the pace became sluggish and unrealistic

I really enjoyed the development of Hannah and Baileys relationship throughout the book, which was probably the strongest aspect of the book as I was emotionally invested in their story. However, the twist and the ending was disappointing for me. I felt that the ending was abrupt and unfinished which really frustrated me.

Overall, the book had its moments and was an okay read, however the lack of a true ending just left me feeling unsatisfied.

This was a fantastically well crafted, and intelligent psychological thriller that definitely deserves more hype! This is my first book by Swanson and can’t wait to pick up some of his other books!

I found this to be an enjoyable read, the writing style and narrative was engaging and kept me wanting to reading. The book is told from multiple points of view, mainly alternating between Ted and Lily but with some insights from other characters.

The frequent shifts in perspective and the revelations that came with them kept the suspense and tension high throughout the book. I really liked Lily’s character, she was extra dark and twisted and the insight into her mind was both fascinating and disturbing

Overall, this was an immensely entertaining read and the books constant twists and turns were surprising, and kept me guessing until the very end. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you’re a longtime fan of psychological thrillers or new to the genre, this book is well worth your time.

This is my 2nd book of Dreda & Ryan’s and it definitely didn’t disappoint! This was a gripping thriller with so many twists and turns it had me dizzy. I really enjoyed the dual timelines of the present time and 15 years ago when Gems daughter first vanished, it helped to building a picture of what really happened. I also found it really fast paced and easy to read, especially with the short chapters. I really didn’t want to put the book down!

I did guess part of one of the twists, but nothing prepared me for some of the other twists.. especially the final one!! Completely shocked!

Overall, this was a really enjoyable, twisty and dark read, and I think it definitely deserves more hype! I recommend to everyone who loves a good psychological thriller!

This was a beautiful, heartbreaking and thought provoking story. I found the writing incredibly beautiful and poetic, while discussing some tough themes and topics. The way mental health was portrayed throughout the book was incredible and as someone with my own mental health struggles I felt validated reading this, and I felt it helped me connect more with Imogen having some understanding of her struggles.

Although this is a short read, it was certainly packed with alot of emotion. I don’t think there are many other words I can use to do this book justice. I would recommend checking the trigger warnings as it does cover Anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, sexual assault.

Overall this was a heartbreakingly powerful and raw read, I highly recommend people pick this book up and give it a read!

This was a complex, gripping and twisted read! I didn’t realise until part way through the book that this is actually the 3rd book in the DI Hart series… however it could easily be read as a standalone without reading the first two books.

I really enjoyed this book, there was plenty of twists and turned that kept me guessing throughout the whole book. The story is told from multiple POVs, at first I didn’t understand the need for some of the points of view, but everything started to click and fall into place as I read. The book does also cover some tough topics including domestic slavery, drugs etc. so I would suggest looking at the trigger warnings just in case.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys police procedural reads and reads that keep you guessing until the end. Can’t wait to read the first two books in the series!

A disappointing read. Unfortunately this book did not live up to my expectations. I found the whole book abit of a drag to read, everything was pretty over dramatic and repetitive. There also seemed to be an unnecessary need to over explain everything which just made me lose interest. I also really didn’t understand the constant need to mention someone’s spit so found it pretty disgusting at points.

Another frustration was the lack of character development, there wasn’t much back story for any of the characters so I didn’t connect with any of them. To be honest I found Lucy, Susannah and Martin all pretty annoying.

Overall, the plot sounded great, but lacked execution so left me feeling extremely underwhelmed.

This was a fab read! This definitely had an interesting concept for a psychological thriller, I would definitely say it was giving me black mirror vibes. I found this such an easy and fast paced read, and I could feel the tension building as I read the book. I was convinced I knew who was behind the infamous troll account, but I definitely didn’t expect the twist! I loved Heathers character, especially because she came from nothing before being thrust into the spotlight which made her relatable. I also enjoyed how the book highlighted the role of social media in our lives these days and the dark side of it aswell with online trolls.

I would recommend checking out the trigger warnings before reading as there is references to suicide, mental health, substance abuse, addiction cyberbullying.

Overall, this was a dark and twisted read that had me hooked from start to finish! I would recommend picking up a copy.

Unfortunately another book that didn’t live up to my expectations. It took nearly two weeks for me to finish this book because I found it was pretty slow and it just felt like it dragged on.

This book is classified as a ‘thriller’ but it really does not fit in that category, there was some twists and turns with Emma’s ‘big mystery’ but in the end I was pretty disappointed with the explanation, I don’t think any of her history needed to be covered up as a big mystery at all. I also found Emma’s character to be pretty annoying and unlikeable.

Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend this and I kind of wish I DNF’d it.

Just WOW! I am a very fussy person when it comes to romances and I loved every moment of this book! I binge-read this in one sitting which is something I rarely do! This was a heart-wrenching and emotional read, there was also a respectable level of spice 😏. I haven’t seen this book recommended much which I’m surprised about because it deserves the hype.

This was incredibly well written and I loved the alternating POVs between Bree and Eason. Aly Martinez did a fantastic job writing this book because I felt every emotion along with Bree & Eason.. the grief and devastation, then the building love and intimacy! I’m very much a fan of Eason, he melted my heart! Even though this was ia short read I felt like the story and characters were well-developed and nothing felt rushed or incomplete. And I was not expecting the twist at the end!🤯

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a slow burn romance, I definitely think this book needs more hype!
