i liked this book but they where having sex in every other page and the story jumped from one dilemma to another with out solving them or explaining the reasons for it... the ending left me wondering.

description

Now a 2 is probably harsh to some, but as I rate my books using the Goodreads system, and a two is ‘it was okay’ that’s all I can really give this. Did I enjoy it? Sure, at times. But I found myself rolling my eyes constantly and wanting to throw my kindle at the wall (even though I never would because my partner said I wouldn’t be getting a new one), and groaning in frustration every time another drama arose.

I wanted to like it. I wanted to like it so bad. But I hated Jordan. I’m not even kidding. I don’t like these books where they want their characters to be a ‘bigger woman’ or a ‘woman with curves’ and then especially have some thin beauty on the cover? What. No that’s not even the problem, it’s that they’re doing that, and then constantly mention their bigger size. I can’t handle it, not even a little. Sure you’re comfortable in your skin, but I truly don’t give a fuck. That's not some thin person saying they don't care about someone's size either, I'm not a small plus size and I just think anyone constantly mentioning their weight - big or small - is annoying.

I also didn’t like that each one of these girls were pining after these guys they were told were shifters and having little meetings and crooning over how hot they are. Boooooo. No thanks. I won’t be continuing unfortunately, just wasn’t my type of heroine!

I was really looking forward to reading Scent of a Mate based on all the positive reviews and the blurb, but I ended up disappointed.
The story idea had so much potential but it fell flat. There wasn’t much development to the storyline or the characters.
I didn’t get much of an impression of the hero, Aric, at all. He didn’t really come across as a leading man, or an alpha hero. He just seemed to keep saying “mine” and “safe” when it came to the heroine Jordan.
I didn’t even like Jordan much either. She seemed to keep switching between being an opinionated, sassy woman to a stupid, insecure girl who kept getting into dangerous situations.
And don’t get me started on those dangerous situations. The first attack on Jordan I understood. I thought the plot there could have been stretched out a bit more, really gotten into why the person tried to kill her, but no. After surviving that attack, Jordan is attacked 2 more times before the book is complete! I just didn’t get it. It was all a bit too much. I thought maybe at the end of the book the 3 attacks would somehow link together but they didn’t.
And while I love a good erotica novel, this book wasn’t one of them. The sex took over the storyline to the point that I was skipping over these parts of the book.
The writing style was another issue I also had with this book. I found it to be quite simple, almost a little juvenile. There were grammar errors, including missing words in sentences and incorrect words being used. I kind of felt like a teenager wrote the story.
Overall I thought this was an alright book. But I don’t think I’ll read the next book in the series, especially if that book to ends at 78% on my kindle!

Yummy shifter smexy curvy girl read!!! Oh baby yeah!!

I love the lead Jordan, she is super sassy and fun! Ms Taiden has a way of elevating BBW characters to be more than their dress size. Sure, they have the standard worries we all have about our size, but that isn't the only thing on their minds 24/7. I love a snarky gal who will put her man in his place in one breath and have playful banter in the next. So fun to read!!

Aric is delicious! He is an Alpha wolf who is too hawt to resist. Oh girl, when he gets all dominant! The steam is off the charts and plentiful!! You do not have to wait long for the sparks to fly and a little outdoor lovin to ensue! You may need a cold shower for this read!!

The story is a mixed narrative, which I adore. You go between the two leads POV, getting a full picture of what is going on in their heads.

The story is great, not a lot, but enough to set things up for the future books in the series. I can not wait!! There is definitely something up with he friends and the other brothers!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Arika Rapson, who is wonderful. She has a natural sassy tone to her voice that is perfect for the snarky heroine. She has a fantastic pace that moves with the story. Her energy throughout the read and fits the naughty bits just right! I hope she stays with the series. Each character has a distinct voice that stays consistent the whole book. You are never in doubt who is speaking or who's POV is in charge.

Love this author and can not wait for the rest of the series to come in audio!!

Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

While the book was heavy on the spice scenes it was lacking in a story you could sink your teeth into. Just enough storyline for me to want to continue the series.

Why do authors keep making heroine too stupid to live? How many times can you put yourself in danger before the MC throws his hands up and lets you die.

This book was bad. I can't even choose from the review points. There was no plot at all only meaningless sex scenes and stupid heroes.

This book was a scorcher with a weak plot. The heroine got attacked over and over again, each time for a different reason. One story line just sort of petered out. A second story arc is carried over into the next book(s). With such a weak plot line, the story just sort of...stopped. There was no real conclusion except an HEA that had been decided much earlier in the book.

It seemed like a poor excuse for lots of sex.

Jordan was beyond special. Seriously, how often can you get your hind-parts kicked before you take precautions when you go out? That said, I enjoyed this one. It was a sexy read that I finished in about 3 hours and ended with tantalizing glimpse of future books in the series.

For someone who was practically a member of a shifter family for years, she sure was clueless about how shifter matings work. Jeez....
