Scent of a Mate by Milly Taiden
2.0
Now a 2 is probably harsh to some, but as I rate my books using the Goodreads system, and a two is ‘it was okay’ that’s all I can really give this. Did I enjoy it? Sure, at times. But I found myself rolling my eyes constantly and wanting to throw my kindle at the wall (even though I never would because my partner said I wouldn’t be getting a new one), and groaning in frustration every time another drama arose.
I wanted to like it. I wanted to like it so bad. But I hated Jordan. I’m not even kidding. I don’t like these books where they want their characters to be a ‘bigger woman’ or a ‘woman with curves’ and then especially have some thin beauty on the cover? What. No that’s not even the problem, it’s that they’re doing that, and then constantly mention their bigger size. I can’t handle it, not even a little. Sure you’re comfortable in your skin, but I truly don’t give a fuck. That's not some thin person saying they don't care about someone's size either, I'm not a small plus size and I just think anyone constantly mentioning their weight - big or small - is annoying.
I also didn’t like that each one of these girls were pining after these guys they were told were shifters and having little meetings and crooning over how hot they are. Boooooo. No thanks. I won’t be continuing unfortunately, just wasn’t my type of heroine!
