A good paranormal romance with all the tension, action, humour, and steam I'm looking for.
My only niggle is the narrator. I don't know if her natural voice is this young, but all the characters sounded like teens. It was also hard to distinguish between the four friends when they were chatting amongst themselves.

4.5 Scent of a Mate
I picked this one up on a whim and was surprised by how well everything was portrayed, from the plot to the characters. We never had a dull moment and the author explains everything clearly that their is no misunderstand as to what is going on. I really enjoyed the scenting ceremony, how it was explained at the begin to the girls and wow baby Aric (fan myself) when he scents Jordan wow does it get (HOT) after. I loved it!
Scent of a Mate is book one in Sassy Mates series by Milly Taiden. We get out of this world mind blowing hot sex, a little power play for mate states and a family that loves unconditionally.
Jordan I really liked off the bat. She is a strong women. A fighter. Life has not been fair to her and she does not easily love. Aric I really liked as well. Hot Alpha male who is not pushy unless he has to be to keep his woman safe. The growth in Jordan and Aric's relationship was well portrayed. Aric did not pressure her and took his time breaking down her defense to win her love. They complemented each other. The sex scenes are steamy and well written.
This series looks promising. I really enjoyed this first installment into the Sassy Mates and I can’t wait to read how the rest of the brother’s do with their mates.

Yeah, I read a trashy romance novel and I liked it, so whatever. I picked this book out specifically because the protagonist was a plus-size woman of color. The reason I ended up liking the book so much (aside from the smutty sex scenes) was because she wasn't constantly eating or bemoaning her size. Like, there were a couple points in the book where her insecurities about her weight came up, but it wasn't incessant the way it is in some other romance novels. The highlight of the story wasn't the fact that she was fat, but the sizzling romance which is what it should be. So yay for greater representation in the world of lewd paperbacks.

It is what it is. Came for the shifter smut and was not disappointed. My spicy era continues.

4 1/2 stars!
As far as I know, this is the first book by either Milly Taiden or April Angel that I've read, but it definitely won't be the last. The idea of the couple having known how much they were attracted to each other from such young ages, and feeling the deeper connection that whole time, really drew me in. Their interactions were enhanced by the fact that they knew each other so well. And for Aric to have stepped back to let Jordan grow up and get experiences of her own, on her own, had to have been extremely hard for him. To watch her living a life that only barely included him must have been difficult beyond description. But that just made their finally getting together that much sweeter. Of course, no good book is without conflict, and for Jordan and Aric that came in the form of her being attacked. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, since I'm pretty positive the conflict that started in this book will continue for most, if not all, of this series. Which makes for a great series!

It was alright i guess.
A lot of sex not so much romance.
I was equally parts annoyed and enjoyed.
