A vicious serial killer calling herself Lady Justice is on the prowl. A master of disguise, this brutal killer has a vendetta against certain individuals and before you know it there the murder of Nigel McEnroy. As Lieutenant Eve Dallas begins her investigation, she queries into the victim's job to see if anyone there wanted him dead. However, due to the brutal nature of his murder, Eve soon finds that she has more questions than answers.

With husband Roarke and her dedicated team, Eve plows into details of the victim'ms life in order to flush out the killer. Along the way a multitude of suspects are questioned, while whoever this Lady Justice proves to be, more bodies are falling.

This thrilling book in the In Death series follows the pattern of the previous books in this series by providing a well-written story, complex and interesting characters, twists and turns and a riveting conclusion.

I was just asked whether this series should be read in order and I truly believe that it should. There is a progression of character development and situations that take place over the entirety of the series and if they are not read in order the reader will miss quite a bit. In part, Eve and Roarke. Their pasts. They can only be truly understood if all the books are read as they were published. Another example is Peabody and how she became Eve's partner, as well as her relationship with cop geek McNab. There are other pivotal characters in this series that have come a long way as well.

As soon as I completed this excellent book in this fabulous series, I moved right on to book #50, Golden in Death.

Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and to Edelweiss for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Almost 4 stars, but not quite. This book felt shorter than the others. Maybe I just read it faster. But it was better than the last few I read.

This was my favorite book in the series but it was still enjoyable. Eve figured out very early on who it was. But there was politics at play to be able to close the case due to who the killer was related to. Also this book shows that not all killers go to regular jail. There are mental issues that come into play and they end up getting help and that is justice also.

As always, JD Robb a.k.a. Nora Roberts, writes an amazing storyline with Roarke, Eve, Galahad and others. It is a different story from the ones that she’s done before and continues the development of her characters.

I enjoy how even in the depths of the investigation, we still have light and compassionate moments. Overall, I recommend this book and series to everybody.

I always like to start with saying how much I’ve always enjoyed this series and here #49 did not disappoint.

As per usual, the book starts with murder and it is not pretty. Things move at warp speed in the world of Eve Dallas, but here the killer is moving just as fast.

While I most assuredly figured out the killer as quickly as Eve, how she was going to stop them was a mystery. Someone has killed by cutting off a man’s penis and testicles and the ride goes from there. Once again men doing crappy things to women bring Eve’s past back but not as much as you might think. Here someone is killing abusive, cheating, rapists and while no one feels that sorry, taking the law into your own hands is a huge anathema to Eve and Peabody so off they go to find Lady Justice, as the killer signs the notes on the bodies, before more men are murdered.

Get some Eve Dallas and Company in your life, they make for interesting and fun escape.

I do love the in death books a lot
especially all the scenes that are not just case work like
eve interacting with bella also mavis is pregnat again that's nice and I think I was wondering about that in the last book funnily enough

one thing I noticed
is that currently there's always 3 victims. like victim one where eve starts investigating then a 2nd one then a 3rd one then she catches the killer. it probably doesn't happen ALL the time like I don't think it happend in the last book but I did notice it a few times now. lie it doesn't bother me I just needed to write this down somewhere so I can keep noticing it xD
and I probably only noticed it because I keep reading 3 books in a row. if I were up to date I probably wouldn't notice that so again does not bother me I just needed to mention it
