If there are two things in this world that I love, it is historical romance and trans rights. And OOH BABY let me tell you, I got both!!! This is a slow-burn friends-to-lovers story. It has it all: sexy dukes, female friendships, regency-era passive aggressiveness, and fancy balls. Plus if you are worried about there being any emphasis on transgender suffering, I promise you it does not! It is all trans happiness, love, and joy. It was such a breath of fresh air and exactly what queer people need. I can only hope we get more books like this in the future.

Dream House as witty recommendation. The dream house is a surreal memoir about queer abuse that takes place in a house that we have all been to but it has also never existed. This is an intimate look at a person's life and the hardships of the expectations surrounding WLW relationships. When reading this book I felt both haunted and cleansed. The idea that we all have a place, a time, and a person that we return to in our minds when we are wounded is incredible and so deeply human. I hope that you read this book and open the doors of your Dream House to the ghosts that Carmen Maria Machado brings in.

I could’ve gone without the foot stuff and food sex. But my enby representation is so low in print media (especially one that’s not sci-fi) I’ll read pretty much anything
