An interesting story well told, and very informative. Nothing world changing, but a book I would recommend for fans of the genre.

What a charming read this is. Sweet, emotive and with a powerful message it's an exhibition in just how lovely a book can be. It would benefit perhaps from being slightly longer, as it feels a little rushed towards the end, though this is a very minor complaint. A thoroughly enjoyable read, enhanced greatly if you listen to the songs mentioned in the text as you read. A wonderful time all round.

Didn't grip me immediately, but I slowly warmed to it's interesting narrative style and plot. The slow and elegant revelations which come as characters remember more are beautifully done, and the threads of a nicely told story are neatly woven into an equally elegant ending. The dialogue is oddly phrased sometimes, and the prose takes a little getting used to, but if one sticks with it that ceases to be such an issue. An altogether interesting, unique and very Arthurian story, told in a sound but slightly eccentric fashion. I recommend, but only to lovers of similar things, as this, I feel, scratches quite a particular itch.

An excellently and elaborately written narrative of the Arab Revolt, amusing in places, tense in places and thoroughly entertaining. A touch slow-paced in places, and noticeably abridged (names are a touch confusing), but altogether a very reflective and atmospheric text. If you don't like heavy description or atmosphere over plot this probably isn't the book for you, but as a description of atmosphere and an account of the history I recommend it. Hampered only by the slightly confusing nature of the account, which is probably a result of it being an abridged version.

Excellent, truly inspirational, a touch heavy on the god-bothering at the end
