Didn't grip me immediately, but I slowly warmed to it's interesting narrative style and plot. The slow and elegant revelations which come as characters remember more are beautifully done, and the threads of a nicely told story are neatly woven into an equally elegant ending. The dialogue is oddly phrased sometimes, and the prose takes a little getting used to, but if one sticks with it that ceases to be such an issue. An altogether interesting, unique and very Arthurian story, told in a sound but slightly eccentric fashion. I recommend, but only to lovers of similar things, as this, I feel, scratches quite a particular itch.
