Not as strong as the first in the series but excited to continue to see where this goes!

Ouch. My heart hurts after that one. Very slow burn and the end just rips you apart

📖 BOOK REVIEW🔖
The Wives - Tarryn Fisher
“I’m holding everyone accountable, because it takes a village to put someone in a mental institution"
Ugh. The first 40% of this book was very engaging and very fast paced. I was into it despite the evident misogyny coming from the main character, Thursday. I have to admit, I missed the transphobic comments. I attribute that to it being the audiobook version & me not hanging on every word.
Without giving away too much, I would describe this book as a clusterf*ck. I actually had to read the end twice because I ended up so confused. The end really felt like a cop out to me. I was hoping for another twist to make the book worthwhile. Tons of triggers in this one including loss of pregnancy. Research before reading if you are a sensitive reader. ❣️

📖 BOOK REVIEW🔖
Finders Keepers - Natalie Barelli
"You're not going to murder me in the night, are you?"
This one started off shaky for me. I felt that none of the characters were likable. It wasn't until I really dug in that I was able to understand WHY they were so unlikable. The last 50% of the book was much better than the first.
I love petty, catty girl drama but the dialouge just made it feel immature to me, despite the very adult topics in the book. Overall, I have to say I was happy with the ending & the fate of the villian. Triggers for grooming and more.

✒️ BOOK REVIEW 📖
The Last Housewife - Ashley Winstead
"there’s no such thing as an objective observer. That’s why stories are powerful. If you’re listening, you’re part of it."
Sometimes you start a book, & you know in your heart it's going to be a 5⭐️. This book was one of those for me. The writing was beautiful & painful. I love the conflicted emotions of Shay throughout the entire novel. This is absolutely one of my favorites for the year, kept me interested from the very first page.
Chapter 19 absolutely ripped my heart out. 😢 This is a very triggering book including DV, SA, cults, & more. This wasn't a deal breaker for me but the content warnings on this one are real. I didn't feel like Ashley went into a ton of unnecessary detail in terms of the violence.

BOOK REVIEW 📚📖
Never Lie - Freida McFadden
"Liars fidget. The tone of their voice or speech patterns changes. Liars offer too much information, babbling on with excessive detail to convince themselves or others of what they are saying."
I won't say too much because this was far from my favorite Feida read. It felt disjointed to me and I didn't feel shocked by any of the twists.
I still think if you're a Freida lover you should go for it. This one was just not it for me 😫
