This story was good but I feel like it leaned a little too far into the melodrama in the 3rd act. But it does have one of my favorite things in romance: in the epilogue we learn that both MCs
are now in therapy and actively working on their issues.

๐ŸŽง Dual POV but only one (female) narrator. Once in a while it was hard to remember whose POV we were in.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 3.5/5 One scene that was pretty explicit but skipped the uh... ending; the rest was glossed over and most of the explicit content was them thinking about what they would like to do.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ FMC and her whole family are Puerto Rican and have been in Chicago for a few generations. MMC is white (Irish immigrant grandparents). There are same sex couple side characters, including one who identified herself as bisexual.

A fun follow up, although it felt like there wasn't a lot of character development of the MMC in this book, since we're introduced to him in the first book. I didn't get a great sense of his deeper personality.

This was fine not great. I'd probably give the author another chance but I don't know if I'd recommend this book.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 3.75/5 There were a few explicit scenes, but they lacked tension/heat.

IDK, this one just didn't hit the way the others in the series did? I didn't get pulled in to the story.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 3/5 There was only one sex scene but it was fairly detailed

A collection of vignettes that take place after the end of book 1. The short stories were cute and sexy and showed growth in their relationship. Good all around.

FYI there is a lot of pregnancy/birth/babies/fatherhood content.

This was cute. Second chances and personal growth while throwing yourself a giant extravagant party? I'm here for it. The last minute wrench the author threw into the couple's plans felt forced though.

๐ŸŽง Dual POV with only one (female) narrator

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 1/5 Lots of attraction/tension but only a couple kisses on page.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ Both MCs are Latine and FMC's family (mostly Argentinean) make up most of the side characters. There were at least two same sex couples in the extended family. It also shows more socially conservative families/society as this all takes place in a town in Utah. There's intentionally/explicitly no author judgment in either direction about Mormonism.

Dad Bod Dom by Elyse Kelly

It's a short book with "dom" in the title, so I was assuming no plot just vibes, but instead there was not actually that much ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ stuff, and a secondary plot shoehorned in to basically one scene. And ugh the secondary plot was like, this is dumb, why'd you even bother with it? I guess it was supposed to bring in some action but it didn't feel at all thrilling.

One thing the book got right was the nurturing side of a daddy dom. The MMC is very concerned with FMC's well being and takes steps to ensure she is happy and healthy. It was nice to see that aspect of the power exchange as a feature, not a side effect.

๐ŸŽง The voices were fine? Dual POV with two narrators. The MMC's Southern accent felt a little overdone.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 4/5 for content but not for actual spiciness? There was a lot of talk about kink but only a few explicit scenes. And they weren't very intense scenes, considering some of the scenarios/implements that are casually mentioned as being in play for them, but the reader is never shown them in scene.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ I *think* the FMC is Black? It's stated that she has brown skin and her child has dark curly hair, but I don't think they ever explicitly mention her race. So she's a woman of color but race unknown I guess. MMC seems to be white.

Snowed In by Catherine Walsh

๐Ÿ“ This was a good read. Decent mix of serious stuff and fun times. There were a lot of jokes and good banter. The backstories and interior lives of both MCs were interesting and were revealed over time. The actual snowed in part of the story doesn't take up all that much of the book, although what happens there is integral to the plot. Most of the book takes place in/around their village, not in the mountain cabin.

๐ŸŽง Two POVs, two Irish narrators (accents, yay!). They both did a good job, although it was a little confusing that there was one side character who had an American accent with the female narrator, but still sounded Irish with the male narrator. But that was my only criticism.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 4/5 There wasn't a ton of sex in this book but there was at least one long explicit scene. It was well done.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ This takes place in a village in Ireland, so unsurprisingly there's no real ethnic/racial diversity to speak of. MMC's sister is with a same sex partner. And there's one side character who says she knows she's better off without a partner, but it isn't explicitly stated that she's ace or aro or anything in particular.

Good for a short book. Managed to fit a decent amount of character background & development into a short amount of time.

I wish there had been something indicating that the dreams of people without kids are just as valid as the dreams of those with kids, because it seemed to value the latter a lot over the former, which was disappointing.

๐ŸŽง Full cast with sound effects. The sound effects were good; immersive, not distracting.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 1.5/5 closed door

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ There was plenty of diversity with these characters. The FMC is white and Jewish, and the MMC is Latine. MMC's two best friends are Black (sexuality unknown) and white queer. There are POC and same sex couples in the other contestants and the production teams.
