American Royals by Katharine McGee
4.0
This book was such a fun, quick read (I devoured the entire thing during a day at the pool!).
Katharine McGee has created an incredible cast of characters, royals and commoners alike. As a devoted follower of the British royal family, I feel that the portrayals of the American royal family were accurate depictions of what it would look like if America DID have a royal family. And the storylines were just so fun!
This book has everything: romance, scandal, sabotage, a Royal ski trip! It's a must read for lovers of The Royal We, Royals (the TV show!), Red, White, and Royal Blue, etc.
My only criticism? I felt like a bit too much was left hanging at the end - I would have liked a bit more resolution at the end of the first book; regardless, I look forward to following the American Royals on further adventures! Bring on the sequel!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
4.0
Salt to the Sea is a beautiful and heartbreaking story about four individuals during the evacuation from Germany in 1945. The chapters are short, with the perspective alternating between all four individuals, which makes it a quick, rather addicting read. I was always ready to know what happened next for each character, so found myself saying 'just one more chapter' over and over again. This is a YA novel, so it's an easy read, but it's also incredibly interesting Historical Fiction and brings to light an event in history that not many know about.
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher
4.0
3.5 STARS! The Wives was a wild ride, and not what I expected at all.
Thursday's husband is a polygamist, and she agreed to that. She's fine with it. Until she learns something about one of the other wives - her name. And then she starts to dig. And dig further. And, eventually, she finds something that tells a completely different story about the man she marries. So, what is she going to do about it?
The Wives was a fast paced and enjoyable read. But it was also a bit ridiculous. It kind of felt like the author tried to squeeze in as many twists as possible and at one point I just got tired of it. At about the 75% mark, the book could've gone in one direction and been a 4.5-5 star read, but it went in a different direction and I just found myself annoyed? Disappointed? I'm not entirely sure, to be honest.
