Well the most I can say for this was that it was entertaining and quick. Maybe it’ll get better with the second book…

I need the next book in this series yesterday. I’ve really enjoyed these books. In the fourth book, Everett, the “Love Guru” Kingman finds himself crushing on the forbidden, Penelope. Pen is his brother’s fiancé’s best friend, so she is OFF LIMITS, but when she asks him for advice on dating, he realizes he can’t stay that far away. This series has been about finding happiness while fat, and this one really drove the message home. I will say, it got to be a bit much at times, but I think the main reason I didn’t like that is because it hit home.

I knew just from the tiktok I saw that this was going to be a delight and boy was it! Santa has put all smut readers on the Naughty List and Madame Claus brings his sleigh to life to teach him a lesson. Messaging is 10/10. Also surprisingly hot 🥵

This was so hot. It was also cute and sweet. Perhaps a little juvenile at times, but I was looking for a silly holiday romance novella and that’s exactly what I got. Loved it.

This was cute, but not really my cup of tea. Trixie is a witch who wants to suppress her powers, because of some deep seated trauma. Dominic is her ultra wealthy landlord. When Trixie finds out that Dom is planning to sell the building and evict all of the tenants she starts a hex war with him. The plot of this book was kind of jumbled and hard to keep up with. The love connection was a bit of an eye roll for me.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this post-release ALC.

I liked this a lot more than I expected with my limited knowledge of Formula 1 racing (at least that’s what I think this is.)

Kian is an experienced racer with fifteen years on the circuit and 4 championship cups. He enters this season wondering if it may be his last. Before leaving for his first race, he learns that his teammate had a season ending accident and will be covered by rookie hotshot Harper James.

Harper is newer to racing, but he has been killing it at his level. He has spent his share of time in the clubs, and the tabloids have never been shy when it comes to his pictures. He is ecstatic to move up to the top level and prove himself racing alongside his hero, Kian Walker, only to learn that the old saying, “never meet your heroes,” has a ring of truth to it.

Kian and Harper couldn’t be more different characters, so their chemistry really is surprising, but the relationship they build is a beautiful one. This story is heart wrenching and sweet. I enjoyed every minute.

First off, a huge thank you to NetGalley for the ALC!

Where do I even start? This book was so funny.

Rosie and Aiden are MFA students at NYU and they loathe each other. Rosie, a hopeless romantic at heart, wants to be a Romance novelist; Aiden, one of the most talented writers in their class, specializes in LitFic.

After causing a scene during their writing workshop, their professor gives them an ultimatum: write their novel for the final together, or drop the class. With very little hope of getting into another workshop, Rosie and Aiden agree to write a love story with no HEA together.

The tension in this story is devastating; Rosie and Aiden have the best chemistry, even when they’re tearing each other to shreds. I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, but it brought me to tears. And of course, the spice - when the pair finally break through the tension, oh man, it’ so good. I loved this and I really look forward to reading more from Katie.

It took me way longer to finish this than I care to admit, mostly because I’ve been in the mood for audio. Finally got around to finishing it though and man was it good. This is a regency era, fantasy, mystery. Set in an alternate universe where dragons and yetis and magic exist. The story is funny, charming, and it keeps you on your toes. There were a few really good twists at the end.  It’s a great story to curl up to read with a mug of tea and a cozy blanket. Bonus! Deaf/HOH/Sign Language representation!

Thank you to Net Galley for this ALC.

I really loved the premise for this story. Ivy gave up her dreams to be a PR professional to support her boyfriend Rob. She eventually gave up pieces of herself until she was no longer the same person and Rob left her, taking everything but the lumpy, old couch.

After being off the job market for so long she was desperate for a job that met her qualifications and took the first job that would have her, as assistant copy editor for a beauty brand. Her new boss, Ethan, is grouchy, and difficult to work with.

Ethan is having trouble at home with his leech of a girlfriend, Lily. She criticizes him relentlessly, doesn’t take his work seriously, and spends all of his money.  When she comes into Ethan’s office during a tense meeting and makes a scene, he cuts her off.

Ivy and Ethan run into each other at a club and drunkenly leave together. One thing leads to another and the story takes a very spicy turn.

I really wanted to like this book, but in the end it just wasn’t a good fit for me. The idea is cute and the story has potential, it just wasn’t well executed. It felt like a bunch of ideas jumbled together. The characters and the love scenes they shared felt very robotic and didn’t make a lot of sense placement wise. The story jumps around and there’s no easy to follow timeline. Also the title doesn’t make sense. Ivy doesn’t even wear makeup until later in the book.

Cute, funny, and cozy. I had such a good time reading this book. Harper  is a gorgeous, plus-size, aspiring novelist who is super relatable. Fraser is big, grumpy, Scottish lumberjack who just wants to be left alone to work and care for his mum, sisters, and niblings. Harper’s gets to her Airbnb, where she planned to write her novel, and finds it flooded. Her unhelpful host leaves her high and dry and sends her off into the woods to find the path to town, where she finds Fraser who reluctantly helps her. This is a really sweet and funny story about rediscovering your own voice after so many others’ words have shut you down.
