Huge thanks to NetGalley for this post-release ALC.
This story had me hooked immediately. Zamora and Marcus were each other’s first loves and ones that got away. Ten years after their relationship ended, the pair reconnect when their shared flight home is cancelled.
Both are in drastically different points in their lives; Zamora, in the process of divorcing her husband, has just found out she’s pregnant and Marcus is newly engaged to a woman who checks all the boxes but one - she’s not Zamora.
I really enjoyed this second-chance romance. The story was real and raw. I was floored about halfway in when the third narrator was introduced and an additional perspective came into play. However, towards the end, it felt very rushed and everything seemed to fall together without any real conflict.
There is one glaring issue with this book that knocked it down an additional star for me. This audiobook did not come with any trigger warnings yet there are very graphic descriptions of rape and miscarriage.
Through it all this was still a very enjoyable read/listen and the narrators did a great job!
I loved the first book, Your Coffin or Mine, which was my first ever ARC so I was really excited for the opportunity to ARC the second installment. This book was incredibly funny and had me laughing every other page. The love story did leave me wanting. I never really got how she forgave his behavior so easily; and something about O’Doyle just gave me the ick. Definitely recommend if you’re just looking for something fun, because it’s definitely that.
Huge thanks to Net Galley for the post-release ALC. I’ve never really been into tennis, but I’ve always been a huge fan of sports romance. I took a bit of a gamble with this book and it paid off.
After losing her Wimbledon title and taking a mandated two years off the sport, Scottie Sinclair doesn’t think she’ll ever play tennis again. That is, until her old coach convinces her to pair up with her father’s tennis nemesis, Nico Kotas. The two get off to a rocky start, but they eventually find common ground, and love.
This story was very emotional and it kept me on my toes throughout. I did not expect it to get as spicy as it did, but oh boy! The drama was incredibly tense and it really made me want to choke the antagonist. Absolutely loved the narrators and they will be going on my list.
This was a lot more than I was expecting after the first two Lana books I read. It was much more fantastical and I loved every minute. The narrators were wonderful and it’s a duet!
Father forgive me for I have sinned. I’ve been wanting to read this for a while after reading Crossed and realizing maybe I have a thing for priests. After reading this I can unequivocally say that I do have a thing for priests.
This may be the best book I’ve read this year… and I almost DNFd it early on. My first instinct after the first chapter was, ‘I can’t read this right now, it’s going to break my heart,’ but I really like Shaylin’s Threads, so I kept going. I can’t even begin to summarize this book and do it justice but to say that it follows a widow’s story before and after her husband passes. In her mourning, she meets his estranged identical twin brother and she’s surprised to find that she’s developing feelings for him. My heart is NOT broken, but I’m changed.
It always makes me happy when a book this hot is also super cute and sweet. Why choose hockey romance with a surprising amount of hockey actually involved. Juuuust a little too fast paced for the ol’ suspension of disbelief, even for some hockey smut, but I loved it still.
This one was so cute and so gd hot. Married loggers, Fox and Morgan discover Nathan stranded on the side of the road and rescue him. The trio spend the next few days before Christmas snowed in and things get steamy.
Had to pause reading my ARC and switch to audio so I can get some crochet done before Christmas. Ho-ly Shit. I really enjoyed this book. I’m always a fan of why choose/throuples and this did not disappoint. Plus it’s a cute Christmas novella so huge plus.
