From « It was good, and she hated that it was good, and something about that made me very, very happy. » to « I knew two conflicted truths: I wanted Avery, and I wasn’t the kind who settled down. » to « I miss you too, Adams. »

✅ fake dating, fake engagement
✅ bachelor falls in love with miss strong independant woman
✅ good banter, made me cackle
✅ charming small town
⛔️ again with the « i want to put a baby in her? » seriously? Y’all need to chill down with the pregnancy k*nk, babies are not even affordable
⛔️ sloppy and lazy writing, she copies herself from one book to another (‘heart, meet sledgehammer’, ‘i have morning breath, don’t care’) WORD FOR WORD sentences between books

My friends and I went away to the beach for the weekend and we had ourselves a bookclub. We agreed on reading #TheWrongMrRight by Stephanie Archer, and it was the perfeccct read for the beach! I do have a lot to say about it, however:

- There were def insta-love & insta-lust vibes, but I find that I do not mind it too much.
- The MC is awkward as hell, and this story it about her getting out of her shell. I appreciated that her help, her crush Wyatt, did not try to change her personality, but just tried to make her enjoy life more, by showing her things he knew she would like and pushing her boundaries a bit. It did not feel like too much, and her character development is well done.
- Sm*t was nice! Refreshing to some degree, even.
- Some elements were unexpected and were not for me: the constant calling her « bookworm », the surprise pregnancy k!nk, etc. Did not ruin the experience, but made me wince a little.
- The ending was terribly cliché. But I’m wondering if maybe I should also read the other ones? I liked that I always knew where it was going, but I hated that I was right everytime.

I had a fun time! But would necessarily recommend as an excellent read. Romance is not my go-to genre, but I am trying new things (like Hannah!) 🫶🏼 All and all, I give it 3/5 ⭐️

Les histoires étaient A+, et je suis tellement habituée au ton de Charles que je l’entendais dans ma tête ahaha!

Ceci dit, les dessins étaient souvent sur-stimulants, il y avait comme BEAUCOUP de détails. J’étais étourdie.

Rating: 3.75/5

Tropes:
- found family
- aloof main character (socially awkward to the boot) x sunshine love interest (with a dab of 'touch her and i'll x you')
- fairies: hiking, woods, magic, etc.

Warnings:
- No smut (which was perfect thank you very much, booktok is making this very weird lately)
- Violence (sword fight, poison, decapitation and torture to be exact - yes, you read that right, but it's not gore... quite quick, when you think about it.)

I really liked reading this book! I think it has plenty of things that make it fairly unique, like the fact that it's written like a real scientific journal, with notes and references and everything. It would be the perfect read for fall! It was very refreshing to read the story from the POV of someone who's shy and very awkward, and has no idea whatsoever how to connect with other fellow humans, but can perfectly respect the decorum of fairies. It was deliciously ironic and funny.

I had a lot of fun reading Em's adventures, but I was not 'hooked' on it, if that makes sense.

I have not cared a day in my life for tennis, until Carrie Soto. I've been dreaming of tennis since I read the first page.

I ate this book up in two days. I could not put it down. I have never cared so much for a fictional character to win a fiction Grand Slam. I want 14 more of those battles, play by play, if you please.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite TJR book ever. It makes me want to re-read the rest of her work.

The side-plots, the father & daughter relationship, and a touch of romance with that other character, balanced the intensity of the main storyline perfectly.

And what do you mean, I had that masterpiece on my shelves for years before I picked it up? Shame on me.

We got a couple great quotes, mostly from Aragorn, Gandalf and Faramir - but gosh book IV was incredibly boring.

now tHAT was a good romance ❤️‍🔥

It was messy, yes, and I do feel like it has 8 different storylines, but idk man, it was juuuust what I needed, really hit the spot.

Those spicy scenes? Hello?!

I love seeing Elise grow into herself, finding her voice. Jack has such a good grounding energy, it was a delight to read.

Loved the Olive x Adam cameo, made me cackle 'marry at 28? what am I, a child bride?' I LOVED IT.
