I have not cared a day in my life for tennis, until Carrie Soto. I've been dreaming of tennis since I read the first page.
I ate this book up in two days. I could not put it down. I have never cared so much for a fictional character to win a fiction Grand Slam. I want 14 more of those battles, play by play, if you please.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite TJR book ever. It makes me want to re-read the rest of her work.
The side-plots, the father & daughter relationship, and a touch of romance with that other character, balanced the intensity of the main storyline perfectly.
And what do you mean, I had that masterpiece on my shelves for years before I picked it up? Shame on me.
“Ahí vamos papá. A la final.”
