This one was recommended as laugh-out-loud, but it was only "smile-ish" for me. pride and prejudice done in an elite boarding school for girls (and a nearby one for boys). original P & P names kept.

Based on the title, I didn't expect much of this book. I had really low expectations but I quite enjoyed it. I still missed the kiss. I think at least one kiss, the first kiss of a couple is important. It was disappointing that it wasn't included.

This used to be one of my favorite books! I still love it, but I want to let some time pass so I can forget the amazing plot twist at the end.
I love that Lizzie is a scholarship student and is roommates with Jane for two reasons.
1). Jane is even more of a saint because it's not sisterly bond that compels her to be nice to Lizzie, it's just her good nature
2). We don't have to interact much with the annoying Lydia or Mrs. Bennett
The Mr. Darcy in this is extremely swoon-worthy and totally charming. I love the change of making Lizzie an accomplished pianist rather than not being particularly skillful in anything.
And the plot twist! Finding out Claudia Reynolds was Darcy's mom made me gasp out loud! It was such a fun twist and made Darcy even cooler. It also highlighted how Darcy and Lizzie would have common ground beyond just irking one another or bickering.

This was actually really cute. Not the most amazing or well-written book, but a fun retelling. I liked it more than I thought I would, but I probably won't read it again.

I'd actually give this 4.5 stars if I could. Super cute book that reminded me just how much I love P&P! This version was a great, quick read that has left a huge smile on my face.

I love reading Jane Austen remakes, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. This book is pretty much all dialogue which results characters that are flat. Part of the charm of the original P&P is the third person omniscient narrator who has a personality of her own. That was lost with the first person narration (which I understand is THE thing in YA), but I think here, it just doesn’t work.

A spin on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, that didn't quite live up to its predecessor. I think I would have liked it more, if the names hadn't been the same. I spent much of my time comparing the stories instead of enjoying the book. :-/

Really cute. Enjoyed it a lot, much to my surprise.
