I didn’t realize I had this ARC! I loved it! I loved this friends to lovers story. It was so sweet. Maggie’s emotion bled off the pages, and her need for Sam. Sam’s wait was worth it.

The Bed Mate by Kendall Ryan is book 3.5 in the Roommates Series and part of the 1001 Dark Nights. I absolutely adore this cute, sexy and fun novella that is Sam and Maggie’s story. This is the perfect friends to lovers story and I truly enjoyed every minute of it.
Sam and Maggie are best friends. While Sam has loved Maggie for a long time, they have never been single at the same time, until now. Maggie was a little oblivious to the situation until all of the sudden, she started to see Sam in a different light. A New Years getaway, fresh off a breakup is a good thing...especially when feeling are finally out in the open.
The Bed Mate was the perfect friends to lovers novella, with the happily ever after that they deserve!

The Bed Mate was so CUTE. I love me a great friends to lovers romance, and this book was just that!! The book kept getting better and better the more of it I read. The heroine's obsession with Christmas was pretty adorable. I'm starting to get pumped for the holiday myself in a couple of months. I love it when Kendall writes these FUN stories and can't wait for her next one!!!

🖋 SNEAK PEAK REVIEW 🖋
This was a short and sweet 3.5 stars novella of finally accepting and giving into feelings that have been built up over the years. The risk for more than being in the friend zone that would either make or break the relationship between Sam and Maggie. Although it had some predictable moments the fun and swoony chemistry they have with each other made up for it. This was a lovely addition to the Roommates Series.

This novella is super cute! It was short and sweet but fully encompassed a friends-to-lovers story. A lot of times, after reading novellas, I’m left wanting more. I rarely feel like I got enough out of the story. However, this time was completely different. There was so much chemistry, desire, attraction, and angst in such a small amount of pages.
Sam and Maggie had been friends since college and because of things they’ve gone through, they are closer to each other than anyone else. After she breaks up with her boyfriend, Sam flies her out to join in on his guy’s skiing weekend and it turns out sharing a hotel room sparks something deeper. Things heat up quickly between these two but will they risk their friendship at a chance of something more?
This is the perfect story to cozy up with and read in one sitting. So go one-click this novella, grab a warm mug full of something you enjoy, a nice cozy blanket, and enjoy this friends to lovers story.
Grateful to have received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I accidentally read this one out of order, but it worked out since it was interconnected with book 2. The friends-to-lovers trope was sweet and romantic with a sexy finish.

You will fall in love with Maggie and Sam's story. Best friends since College, their lives have never seemed to give them the opportunity to really dwell on the possibility of digging deeper into their feelings.
When Maggie's relationship falls apart and Sam flies her to where he is so they can spend New Year together, it's the first time both of them can really go into deep about what their relationship is really about.
Both of them are scared to ruin their friendship for something that may never work and neither of them wants to be the first one to say something. Throughout this novella, they tiptoe around the subject which cause more confusion for one or the other.
Sam is really the kind of guy anyone would be lucky to have in their lives, either as a lover or a friend. He's simply a good guy who loves to have fun and take risks. Maggie is more careful, but she is such a sweet girl and I just loved her personality in general.
I just love how they interact with each other; how they seem to complete one another.
Overall, it was short but it's the perfect holiday read if you ask me. If you are like me, a sucker for friends to lovers stories, I totally recommend you to read this novella. Once again, Kendall Ryan made us fall in love with her characters.

This book delivered a well laced and thought out storyline for it being so short. And it does give a nice little taste into Ryan's style of writing and what she writes.

3 🌟🌟🌟 - A sweet little contemporary novella
This is a cute novella of best friends becoming lovers. It was nicely written and the paired down focus only on the ‘does he/she like me’ and ‘is it worth risking our friendship’ relationship questions between the protagonists Sam and Maggie worked well.
Best friends since college, Sam knew right from the start he was in love with Maggie, unfortunately she was already in a relationship. Eight years on and numerous short term relationships and one night stands under his belt, the only constant in Sam’s life is Maggie and it’s getting harder to deny his feelings for her. Things come to a head when Maggie splits up with her long term boyfriend after he cheats on her and ends up spending the New Year’s break in Colorado with Sam.
Maggie is beginning to see her best friend Sam in a whole new light, she should be grieving the loss of her relationship, but if she’s really honest with herself these strange feelings and reactions towards Sam have been coming on gradually for a while now. The question is, should she admit how she feels to him and does he feel the same?
All in all it’s a short, but nicely written novella, with an engaging and likeable pair of protagonists. I listened to this on audible and it was narrated well by Jeremy York and Ava Erickson.

The Bed Mate is a novella in the 1001 Dark Nights series, and even though its a short book, it was lots of fun to read. I’ve always been a fan of the friends to lovers trope.
I’ve only read a couple of Kendall Ryan books, but she’s become one of my go to authors. It’s just catching up with the TBR thats hard for us all, am I right?
I really liked both Maggie and Sam and this one, and was really hoping for them to wake up and see what everyone around them already knew. Although Sam was already pretty much there. The way they connect with each other and everything is so easy for them, is really sweet.
This was a fast, fun and sexy novel that had me cheering for the happy ending to hurry up and get there.
Would definitely recommend.
