The approach was just far too dry for me and so the book failed to keep my attention despite the topic being of great interest to me. Will try it again at another time!

An entertaining enough read but I found the narrative style really jarring. I'm not sure if it was intentional but it felt like it could do with a really thorough edit.

The plot was fairly cliche and very predictable. 

I did, however, enjoy it well enough. It would have scored higher but for the writing quality.
