I'm devastated to say this took me almost a month to finish and put me in a slump.

Powerless was so good and had me in a chokehold the whole time. This one however, it felt like nothing was happening, I felt nothing for the characters (and I'm an Adena apologist). There romance was meh, makoto was meh, Adena was meh, the plot was meh. overall, meh.

Perhaps this was a me problem, I will probably give this another chance, just not now.

that ending brought me to tears I was so mad I was desperate I was so close to choose violence.

I think it's the perfect closing for the trilogy, how everything is connected and makes sense and makes you change your view on several characters.

I wish I could write a proper review but I'm still shocked at the fact she had a baby so she could give it to her in-laws as a hostage so her and her husband would be able to move out

this feels like reading someone's diary about their family drama + a free chapter of dismemberment

at least more people are dying but I need Frances to embrace her true self and live her greatest H2O life

reading these books is like a rollercoaster I already know the structure it follows and cant wait for the gore chapters <3 they're never enough and that makes me sad
anyway please give me more horror and less marriage and babies thanks

what do you want me to say? she was a mermaid she's living her best life and I wish I could also fake my death and just live peacefully and happily without any care in the world

the ending for this was super nice and satisfying not gonna lie. however if you asked me about the plot of any of these books I wouldn't be able to explain it to you. it's not that it was a complicated plot but rather it was all over the place and it took some time until it made sense.

really really truly missed the horror I was promised, there was nothing but a few chapters and that made me sad
