I liked the underlying theme of female strength and I very much understood the feelings of being lied to and manipulated. Wondering who you could trust.

There are some very intense descriptions of abuse. FYI if that is a trigger or trauma.

The story was pretty and I enjoyed this book more than book one! I loved Vasya’s adventures as a BOY! and was so happy with her and Solovay’s relationship.

Okay so the love between Rowan and Sloane is sweet, and not too cheesy. I mean the gettin’ busy scenes are pretty graphic, so if that’s not your jam just skip a page or two. Can’t wait to read book two!

Good story, always love a strong heroine. The sexy time scene wasn’t super awkward, but I never really comfortable with all that anyhow.

I struggled a little bit with the pace as I do with most historical fiction and my ADHD, but I loved the idea of Vasya having another sense and is a strong female character.

I loved her connection with horses and I look forward to her next adventures.

I love this book for a multitude of reasons, but here are my two favorites:

1.) Quilters (we are awesome).
2.) Strong women (love this!).

My soul loves historic fiction that reaches deeply into your heart, toying with your mind at how wretched our history has been. But it kills me. It depresses me. I cannot read it every day because it’s for these reasons. I adored this story and how it was told. So happy it is on my shelf.

What a sweet historic adventure of three women, all related who deserved better than the situations they were dealt.

I love the story behind the Weyward women and I feel like I have a Weyward woman of my own in my oldest daughter.

It’s a great little read. 💗💗💗

I thought it was a good story but it just didn’t capture me and then the religious bits nearly lost me.

I understand Kayli ‘sees the darkest things’ yet she still believes in God. I just can’t get on board with that. Science explains so much more and chance is real. All this to say the religious parts lost me as a person who has seen children die right in front of me I can’t blindly believe there is a god right now.

I love the premise of this story. It’s both beautiful and heartbreaking. As a mother, it hits home and that yes, it would have to be something BIG and massively important to leave my child.
