This book was fine, but nothing really outstanding. It was an interesting insight into the way that the Amish look at forgiveness vs. reconciliation vs. pardons and then explaining shunning. It was interesting, but didn't wow me.

This was a retelling of the story of Adam & Eve and it was super interesting; it changed my perspective on a lot of the world.

"Life is not a trap set for us by God, so that He can condemn us for failing. Life is not a spelling bee, where no matter how many words you have gotten right, if you make one mistake you are disqualified. Life is more like a baseball season, where even the best team loses one-third of its games and even the worst team has its days of brilliance. our goal is not to go all year without ever losing a game. Our goal is to win more than we lose, and if we can do that consistently enough, then when the end comes, we will have won it all."

This book had good exercises and thought starters; very solid point to understand the intricacies of forgiveness. How to ask for it, how to react when someone else asks you for it, and everything in between. Wish I'd found it years ago.
