a good solid read; something that gives a good overview without being super overwhelming.

Bought this as Xmas present for Ben and read it first to be sure it wasn't too heavy. Solid read, couple hours. Interesting.

I'm just not in the mood for this. Not sure if I'm just not into reading at the moment or if I've just had a slew of books I'm not into, but this isn't doing it for me and it's another one that I could see myself revisiting at another time or place. Just not today.

That it was a man from Vietnam surprised me and the writing style didn't match.  I think I'm just having a low reading spell bc nothing seems all that good at the moment. I'll find something. This I could revisit though in another time.

I would read anything to be closer to Tom and Ill read this the moment he comes home. But for now, it's scary and the same as living with Tom and it's too much. But I love him and I hope he's learning how to live with hia brain so straight forward. I hope he sees the love I have for him and it doesn't have to scare him.

This book is delightfully engaging, but in the chaos of 21 I couldn't handle reading about an avoidant woman who left her husband for no reason other than she was not able to commit. It was triggering and overwhelming, but if I were to be in a different place or time, I think I'd really enjoy it.

This was compelling and something id like to revisit another time. Something about the prose felt flat to me and I couldn't really engage- the dialogue felt hard to comprehend, but I think it's the saga of 2021 coming to a close rather than a critique on the book.

This book didn't capture me- or rather, I didn't care for the tone which felt white and privileged. Referred to the US as "America" and other minor irritations that made me feel he just didn't really have a broad world view. He also is admittedly euro-centric in his travels, and it makes it feel like every travel needs to be some big specific act, which I dont jive with. It just wasn't my thing.

It just didn't capture me. Not sure if it was my mood or the book.
