I think what disappointed me the most about this book was the fact that I thought it was gonna be about all four of them but we barely got any scenes with Scarlett and Julian which completely broke my heart. I know she has talked about doing other holiday novellas especially for Eva and Jacks (yes please! I want more EvaJacks right now!) but I really hope she does one for Scarlett and Julian because they deserve more page time!
This whole novella is all about Tella being unsure if Legend loved her which I honestly just found ridiculous. Legend, the man obsessed with power, literally gave up immorality for her and I highly doubt he would have done that if he wast 1000% sure he loved Tella.
This novella wasn't very long to begin with and I still felt like it was a little too long.
Honestly, this book just reminded me that I'm not the biggest fan of Tella. Tella has always just felt very self-centered to me and this book did not disprove that to me (I mean come on, asking to have the date of a holiday changed just because you can't find a gift for your partner.) Also, Tella making out with her captor while in a relationship, I know it was technically Legend but she didn't know that yet.
Overall, do I think that you need to read this right away? No, I don't feel like it really adds anything to the Caraval world but I do think it was a cute little Christmas read and is a great edition to my Caraval collection especially with how cute the cover and illustrations are.

I finished this book a while ago and totally forgot to update this soooo I don't remember much of what I thought about it this book but I'll tell you what I remember.
I liked the writing, in the beginning the author did a really good job of getting me hooked and keeping my attention but half way through that changed. I started to get bored and I didn't feel like much was happening, and I kinda lost my desire to read it.
I will say the author did a good job with the mystery aspect.
I also found that I didn't really connect with the characters that much and wasn't super fond of any of them, I didn't hate them but I didn't love them.
My biggest dislike of this book was who the killer ended up being, I felt like it was kinda obvious and anticlimactic. I felt like it didn't make since for a full grown adult to make the decision he did.

Overall, it was a good book and I do plan on giving the second book a try because I already own it but honestly Im probably not ever gonna reread these books.

Very informative on love languages. Even though this book is targeted towards cis heteronormative married couple, I think it can help everyone improve any relationship both romantic and platonic.

I decide to put on this audio book while I was cleaning my disaster of a room to get some motivation and I'm SOOO glad that I did. It was a very quick but informative read and it gave me so many tips to help with my ADHD and other mental disorders and the struggles I deal with on a daily basis. I also just loved how compassionate this book was, you can definitely tell that the author deeply cares about other people and wants to help them.
I'm definitely gonna get a physical copy of this book so I can highlight all of my favorite quotes and methods to easily find.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who deals with any sort of mental illness/disability and finds that they struggle with what other people would consider basic daily tasks.

Even though I enjoyed this book more than the first, I still didn't love it. I found this book boring and I just don't think VIctoria Avyard's writing is for me.
