Funnily enough I was really enjoying this while I read it and super in to it and four days later when I come to review it I have zero recollection of what it’s about. All I remember is hating how open ended the ending was. I like my books with resolutions!

This was such a disappointment. I love Paul Tremblay but this collection just didn’t do it for me. There’s only one or two stories I didn’t totally hate. And the title story just about bored me to death.

It took me awhile to get back in to this world and these characters but once I did, I was 100% in. I forgot how good the original series was and I always kind of wondered what happened after. Now I have my answer and I absolutely loved it! Absolutely worth all 800+ pages.

I say it every short story collection I read and I’ll say it again, this was such a mixed bag and that’s why I’m so iffy on short story collections. There’s a couple stories I really loved but the rest kind of just left me feeling meh.

What a perfect book to start off 2025 with! I’ve waited to read it because I was terrified I wouldn’t like it but it was absolute perfection. Everything I hoped and dreamed it would be and MORE. It took me longer to read than a book of this length normally does not because it was hard to read but because I kept taking breaks because it was so perfect I almost couldn’t bear the thought that it would eventually be over. Schwab absolutely nails it yet again with this one.

This was such a disappointment for me after how much I loved Tender is the Flesh. There was one story in the collection I really enjoyed but the others just fell flat for me. I wanted and expected SO much more from this collection of stories!

There’s just so much hype around this one and it fell so flat for me. So many people have said it’s terrifying and incredibly scary and I didn’t even feel the slightest shimmer of fear. So disappointed by this one!
