I was so excited for this one and it ended up just not being the book for me, I struggled SO HARD to even finish it.

Reading is not against life. It IS life. By far my favourite quote from this book! I wish it was more widely known or more widely available because all readers should read this.

I just fall more in love with Klune’s writing with every book by them that I read. Their stories both break and mend my heart and just hurt so fucking good. This one really grabbed me by the heartstrings, something about it just spoke to me and I fell utterly and completely in love with the characters. I can’t wait to read more by Klune!

This was absolutely bloody BRILLIANT and beyond anything I expected! It took everything I was expecting and completely turned it on its head and I just lapped it up. Hands down one of the best horror novels I’ve had the chance to pick up this year. It’s dark and gory and horrifying and the social commentary is just ON POINT. I won’t say more so as not to spoil it but do yourself a favour and run, don’t walk to the bookstore for this one!

This book was just beyond stunning. It’s frightening, horrifying and all too real but I firmly believe everyone should read it. It’s only going to become more relevant as the years go on, things aren’t going to get any better. Probably one of the best and most haunting nonfiction books I’ve read this year. Highly recommend!

Everything about this book is perfection! It’s weird and it’s wonderful and it’s witchy and it’s just everything I love combined into one divine package. I won’t say too much and spoil it, just do yourself a favour and pick it up and enjoy the hell out of it!

While I did thoroughly enjoy devouring these evil little stories, I also don’t think it’s Junji Ito’s best work. Now it’s still absolutely amazing and spellbinding, once you start turning the pages you just can’t stop. But it lacked a little oomph I normally get from their work. Still stunning and highly recommend if you’re a fan of his work though!

I absolutely loved the whole concept and idea of this book and the execution was mostly on point. There were some minor details that niggled at me a little bit but overall this a really solid and creepy story! Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
