Absolutely brilliant. Captures how we reimagine the life of a person who dies in their youth and reframe all our memories around their final act. Difficult to put down.

It is safe to say that I will never be the same again.
Some parts of this book brought me to my knees. The inevitability of death, how we think we are immune to it, how absolutely unprepared we are to deal with loss no matter how rational we assume ourselves to be.
I like how the book is structured. It goes from talking of medical details to the memories she has with John, to where she is now, seamlessly. I can feel her grief and helplessness in every chapter. "the question of self pity"
I am grateful to her for writing this book, as I said before, I will never be the same again.
