i really enjoyed the first 75%, of the book especially the parts about the serial killer, the ending was rather bizarre. i wasn't really expecting it to go in a rather sci-fi route, and i don't really know how to feel about it. i mean it's a cool concept im just not used to reading such.

i definitely enjoyed this on audio quite a bit, im just not quite sure it is a ''thriller'', the plot twist wasn't really a plotwist? it was more of a drama which i liked it just bothers me when a book is advertised the wrong way. but i thought the charcters were very nicely developed and i really enjoyed the povs (especially how the author added williams pov at the end) and the storyline was very good!

so the biggest problem i have is how this book is marketed. it isnt really 'poetry' it's just more a collection of random snippets of thoughts. and i consider this to be instagram/tumblr poetry. just trying to be something to relate to, but it wasnt horrible again just wasnt really poetry.

i mean there were very selective poems i enjoyed but the poems themselves weren't horrible. i think the main reason why this wasn’t a higher 3 star or a 4 star read for me was that the subjects of the poems were all over the place. overall, since the book was chaptered i feel it would have made for better reading if the poems had been grouped together based on the subject matter instead of going from one topic to an extreme other one.

so..this wasnt as bad as the last one i guess? i mean in general mafia books that betray women as just something men can use and just throw away whenever they want just bothers me in general. and this fit that standard to a point. cora went back to marcus so many times and after a while i was just annoyed at how she is portrayed as such a weak woman. she had so much potential but no ruined but some ass of a man.

okay well. this was just like the last one (just a bit worse).  to be honest i mostly read these books because they only take a couple hours and i was tired of looking for something to read, along with their just easy and i dont really have to think much. they are very distracting when im stressed. but marcus was just a -0/10 for me. like he just kept getting worse as we went on. him mocking cora made me literally want to throw him away and dnf this one but i didnt and i will painfully read the last book in the series.

my immediate first thought while starting this book was a disappointment because it is in first person. which then throughout the story caused me to feel a lack of connection to the characters. along with marcus just being so very annoying? like it was so frustrating how he acted towards her. honestly i will probaly read the rest i wouldn't say i loved it but wouldn't say i hated every part of it either.

it was what it needed to be; entertaining and just to get things off my mind. but there were a lot of repetitive scenes between the two strangely short explicit ones. the male character had a fully fleshed out mysterious background, with supporting characters, secrets, and a climatic end scene. the female character really didn’t - there was a lot of emphasis on how she was broken and honestly sometimes it felt like the fmc was physically punishing herself for things outside her control, we didn't really find out alot about her backstory which i was a bit disappointed for. this book was for entertaining purposes only and it served there! but it was an odd one that is for sure.

WOW. i cannot believe what i just read. this is now one of my favorite books of the year. initially, the book can be a slower read, but when everything begins to make sense near the end i could understand why there was so much of a backstory. but once we got to the twists i could not believe it. like the story is so unbelievable and the author pulled it off so well. listening to this as an audiobook definitely gave it everything i wanted it too, but i would 1000% recommend either. honestly, the characters are so real and so likable. the story is captivating and so realistic. i fell in love with it so fast and i couldnt get enough. such a amazing book.

this started off good. the whole book was a wild ride. naughty children in thrillers is one of the tropes i love. "the push" is actually one of my favorite books i've read this year. this had more disturbing scenes in my opinion, as in there was more descriptive scenes and it was soo good until the ending. like what was that ending? nothing was answered. also i was so frustrated with the male main character he was always in denial and it was so frustrating and made me want to literally punch him and maybe make him actually look at the truth in front of him, but overall i enjoyed it.
