honestly, I'm sitting here thinking about how to write this review, and I'm like did that actually just happen..gosh. dare I say this was my favorite romance book so far this year. to start out we have Brianna, who works in the er, who's fighting for the top position, however, a man named Jacob transfers to the hospital and she believes he is fighting for her spot so she is not to fond of him. however, they run into each other and slowly their relationship shifts. and let me just say Jacob is definitely the top book boyfriend of the year. honestly I'm scared to read any of Abbys other books because I'm like can it get better than this?? and I'm really actually scared for it too HAHAHA. this book I really really connected with. Jacob's anxiety was unbelievably relatable, and I really think Abby handled it in the best way possible, and I think it is a perfect depiction of anxiety and overthinking because all of those things do matter and boy are they exhausting. also the journaling just made me think dang Abby really went through my brain with this one. Not to mention the authors note just touched me so so much, I've experienced a lot of similar issues with the bladder and it feels so personal how she writes about it and how she really does put a spotlight on it. not to mention I fell head over heels for Jacob, and Brianna was such a fighter throughout the whole book. And tell me why I was laughing out loud during this book?! I thought some scenes were so funny and enjoyable! One think I was like ugh was the pregnancy, that is one of my least favorite tropes and for some reason I have encountered it so much in books lately. its scaring me but I thought it honestly added a whole different layer and I am not mad about it. I was just like OMG no WAY!?!?! but I loved them and IM SO SAD ITS OVER. alsoone of my absolute favorite scenes was him giving her his journal!! IT WAS SUCH A GOOD WAY OF EXPRESSING HIS LOVE TO HER!! and it's also just so cute. I recommend this one endlessly, I'm so sad its over :(

I held her gaze. 'This one's you.”

GOSH I AM SUCH A FAN. This is definitely a 3.75 star. Jasper and Sloane honestly are nothing but each others person. I am such a sucker for childhood friends to lovers, and this was exactly what I wanted from this book. The book starts with Sloane marrying sterling, this rich asshole, and Jasper who's attending such wedding, and let's just say it goes wrong and Jasper is there to save her. I really liked this one because I feel like I actually got to know the characters, and their past together. There was so many intimate vulnerable moments and I just feel like they understand each other so so well. This was such a fun one!! Let's just say I am DOWN BAD for Jasper. He said crawl and I will crawl 🙌🏻 One thing is I wish we got a little more of when beau went missing there was like nothing after he came back, and no explanation of any of that, but that might be saved for his book so im not sure. Also I am loving the snipers of texts between the characters! They're all so funny. I am so excited to continue with this series.

“Times have changed, Sloane. I’m not scared anymore. You’re not my fucking friend. You’re just mine.”
“See, Sloane? You can wear someone else’s ring, but we both know you’ve always been mine.”
“Jasper: I don’t like talking to people. Sloane: You talk to me. Jasper: You’re not people. Sloane: Lmao. What am I then? Jasper: My person.”
“Does that mean you’re going home? To Sterling?” His voice is thick and he sounds resigned. I press my lips together and force myself to stare out the windshield. “No, Jasper. It means I’m coming with you.”

NEVER will i get over the single dad trope, i mean cade eaton is actually just so 🤌🤌 although i thought their relationship was a bit rushed and the whole pregnancy was CRAZY, and really not my favorite. Which is kind of sad but they worked well together. However can someone PLEASE tell these romance authors to stop using the phrase "god isn’t here I am". LIKE GET A NEW LINE. but regardless i loved seeing all the characters dynamic. Like seeing summer and rhett was fun and the group chat was quite funny. But I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. I don't know what it was whether the trope, or I just wasn't super attached to the characters, but it wasn't;t super memorable for me.

this was such a fun but still raw and emotional journey, the way the book first started i thought this might be a little cringey and SUPER millennial, but it actually turned out exactly how i wanted it to be. justin and emma truly felt so right for eachother, and i think that emma and her mothers relationship was really so telling. i wish we got a few more scenes with justin’s mom i loved her. but regardless they are so cute and gosh im glad justin is a nice man in touch with mental health🥲

“The love stories sold us the wrong thing. The best kind of love doesn’t happen on moonlit walks and romantic vacations. It happens in between the folds of everyday life. It’s not grand gestures that show how you feel, it’s all the little secret things you do to make her life better that you never tell her about. Taking the end piece of the bread at breakfast so she can have the last middle piece for her sandwich when you pack her lunch. Making sure her car always has gas so she never has to stop at the pump. Telling her you’re not cold and to take your jacket when you are in fact, very, very cold. It’s watching TV on a rainy Sunday while you’re doing laundry and turning her light off when she’s fallen asleep reading. Sharing pizza crusts and laughing about something the kids did and taking care of each other when you’re sick. It isn’t glamorous, it isn’t all butterflies and stars in your eyes. It’s real. This is the kind of love that forever is made of. Because if it’s this good when life is draining and mundane and hard, think of how wonderful it will be when the love songs are playing and the moon is out.”

OH my jesus cowboy. the main reason I think I enjoyed this is because is because I am a masochist and I like to suffer. and I also just have to know the hype. But this was okay, I didn't love it. I thought Rhett's bedroom talk was CRAZY FIRE SEXY. but there was actually no plot, besides Rhetts bedroom thoughts, and the way that he not to mention there were really no memorable scenes that drove this book apart from other books? like what makes this different from 1010101001 other cowboy romances? the whole 'city' girl idea was also just not working for me. she's a city girl because she wears a black mini skirt?! COME ON. oh and i just hate the whole bull riding thing but that's just my animal activist heart. it just gave me the ick tbh. i hope the next books have a better plot than this one did. however, I would be lying if i said this book did not have me hooked, as I read it within 3 hours.
