Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez
4.5
honestly, I'm sitting here thinking about how to write this review, and I'm like did that actually just happen..gosh. dare I say this was my favorite romance book so far this year. to start out we have Brianna, who works in the er, who's fighting for the top position, however, a man named Jacob transfers to the hospital and she believes he is fighting for her spot so she is not to fond of him. however, they run into each other and slowly their relationship shifts. and let me just say Jacob is definitely the top book boyfriend of the year. honestly I'm scared to read any of Abbys other books because I'm like can it get better than this?? and I'm really actually scared for it too HAHAHA. this book I really really connected with. Jacob's anxiety was unbelievably relatable, and I really think Abby handled it in the best way possible, and I think it is a perfect depiction of anxiety and overthinking because all of those things do matter and boy are they exhausting. also the journaling just made me think dang Abby really went through my brain with this one. Not to mention the authors note just touched me so so much, I've experienced a lot of similar issues with the bladder and it feels so personal how she writes about it and how she really does put a spotlight on it. not to mention I fell head over heels for Jacob, and Brianna was such a fighter throughout the whole book. And tell me why I was laughing out loud during this book?! I thought some scenes were so funny and enjoyable! One think I was like ugh was the pregnancy, that is one of my least favorite tropes and for some reason I have encountered it so much in books lately. its scaring me but I thought it honestly added a whole different layer and I am not mad about it. I was just like OMG no WAY!?!?! but I loved them and IM SO SAD ITS OVER. alsoone of my absolute favorite scenes was him giving her his journal!! IT WAS SUCH A GOOD WAY OF EXPRESSING HIS LOVE TO HER!! and it's also just so cute. I recommend this one endlessly, I'm so sad its over :(

I held her gaze. 'This one's you.”
