If you liked Pet by Alwaeke Emezi, this felt like a lighter, less developed version. If you go in knowing that this has less development and is just a quick read you’ll like it.

This is a fantastic book. It goes quickly at only 135 pages. Each of the only 6 chapters are divided into manageable sections. I almost ran a new pen dry annotating so much. I really liked the final chapter because it had some really creative and easy exercises to perform alone or with your community. These exercises are so much better than the typical team building exercises you would see. This book would be great to read with a group at work.

This is probably my favorite romance ever. It took me on such a ride. I recommend not reading the synopsis first because it gives away a lot. But please read the content warnings.

Wow! I loved this. Beverly Jenkins’ men are amazing. I love them, and I’m not a big fan of men.

This book is so many things. I loved every moment, and I found myself slowing down so it wouldn't end. For me, that is a mark that it is a good book. If you like politics and romance books, I think this series is a fantastic intersection of that. But it packs a punch. Don't expect a light and frilly political romance. This is heavy and tackles the real problems in our country. Because of our country's current political climate, you do have to suspend your disbelief a little bit. But this book really shows what America's politics could be like. I'm all about ruining the two-party system.

Just as good as the original. They did a fantastic job adapting this.
