Havoc by Laramie Briscoe

Book 3 in the Moonshine Task Force and another one of my favorite trope with marriage of inconvenience that turns out to be more than anyone thought about.
Even if the book starts when they are already married and living their life as a married couple,it still kept me wanting to know more and why and how it happened with each page.
Holden''Havoc'' has a big responsibility being the team leader of Moonshine Task Force and everyone looks at him for any input. When the daughter of the most wanted family in town requires his help ,to marry her ,he doesn't step back a second because he had his sights on her for a long time and will do anything to protect and have her close.
The sparks are always there between them and all this marriage of inconvenience transforms very quick to a real marriage of lust and love and trust.
Not a boring moment in this story and the side characters bring a great input as well as we get to know more about everyone and hopefully some will have their stories written in the future.

I love second chance romances and especially one when even if the couples have to carry on with their life ,when they get to see each other they realise that the feelings for each other never died.
Such a great choice for naming these characters Kier and Poppy ,they fit so well. When they are young and full of dreams for your future you thing everything is going to be fine and have everything sorted out,but a long distance relationship it surely is not easy to keep and after a lot of misunderstandings the couple have to separate and each one to carry on with their life. After ten years they are back in the same city and of course the sparkle is still there because the first love can never be forgotten and Kier will do anything and everything to win Poppy back.I like him,i was mad at him for breaking her heart but at the end he suffered as well and i like how the author described him with all his flaws and insecurities.Poppy is a strong woman that won't give her heart again to Kier because she is afraid to loose it again but after all the things he is trying to prove that he is wort of her heart she accept her life and won't miss this chance at a happily ever after with the only man she ever loved.
Written in both POV (which i love),with great secondary characters that hopefully will have their own stories, this book is perfect for any romance reader who love a second chance story.

You have to read this book like yesterday !!!

Yes,you will say oooo another office romance ,we all read those and there are all the same ,but let me tell you that you are wrong!

Yes,enemies to lovers, another one again ,but again I say that you are wrong!

We all may swoon after a man in suit and mindblowing gorgeous ,but Sebastian is more than that.He is sexy ,he is smart,he is respectful even with the bartender of the coffee shop, he is caring for his friend ,he remember his mother and still griefs after her a year later, and he has a smart mouth that will keep you wanting to kiss or shout or slap at him at times.

Georgina( gah! I love when I find heroines with one of my real names :)))) is a woman that always put the others first, all her friends, all her past boyfriends ,and now she is still heartbroken after so many ups and downs ,but decides to stand her ground and be more strong, learns to say no when she really does want to say no and what's not to love about that!

An amazing banter, great characters so reliable with so many insecurities and inside torment that have to learn how to overcome them and give trust and love another chance for finding their happily ever after.

And OMG the side characters are great,i really hope they will have their own books.

I'll give 4.5 stars to this book because I found myself in love with Ace without wanting.
I am all in for rebuilding your life if it's not working for you,if you can't be yourself and do what you want in a relationship,no matter if it's a marriage or not.
Ace has seen and done a lot in his life and when he sets his eyes on something he will do anything to get it. Unfortunately that something is someone that he can't have right then and doesn't know if that person wants him either.
Another great story written in this series where we find so many reliable characters with fears and real life situations and feelings ,where one has to decide to stand for their wishes and to make a change for a better future,to risk everything for a hope at love and happily ever afters.

Slow burn read with great characters an even more great story about life and love and lust and whishes.
Tank by Laramie Briscoe

Tank is the second book in this series that I've binge read this month and become a favorite from this author.
I got pulled in from the first chapter and I don't regret any sleepless hours spend to read another great love story.
When one is risking their life every single day in their job, there needs to be a partner that understands you and your life decisions without trying to control it ,and unfortunately that's what happened one day between our characters.
But life will always give second chances to think about what you had and what you want for your future.
After an unfortunate accident,Tank needs Blaze's help to recover and we are going through a long process of rehab with a lot of moments from their past together and what they are willing to do with their life in the future.
Not to much angst as expected for a second chance romance of which I am a big fan ,but a great story with strong minded characters ,with flaws and insecurities as any human, real feelings and a well written story overall nevertheless.
Menace by Laramie Briscoe

Menace is the fifth book in the Moonshine Task Force series and we get to read the story of Mason, who is a single dad with a college son right upon graduation and as a single dad he wants someone to wait for him at home when he gets back from work ,someone who can share his dreams and thoughts with every day.
I love the relationships that he has with his son and how caring and great he is with everyone and although we get to see more of him in previous books, I was waiting for his story more than never. Of course, his son is trying to help him and sign him up on a dating app and this is how he ends up meeting Karina.
Karina is his son's teacher and what a surprise she gets when her friend is trying to set her up on a date with Mason.
A perfect date we can say when the sparks are always there and the scene is so hot.
Can she trust her heart to Mason and dream of a happily ever after with him? Will she take that risk because he is everything that any woman wants in a man and more.
Another great read with very reliable characters and as always a happily ever after that won't disappoint.
Cruise by Laramie Briscoe

Cruise is Caleb's story, son of Menace, that we got to meet throughout the whole series growing up and especially in Menace book, where we get to see his bond with his father and what meant for them to grow up without a mother.
As a kid, he always wanted to become a cop like his father and to be part of the same team that he already calls family because he really grew up with them, and now, not a child anymore he is part of the team, although they might still see him as a kid and don't take him seriously.
Risking his life every day in his job doesn't mean that he is satisfied completely with his life, and after saving Ruby from a disastrous date, he shows her that he can be more than a pretty face and we get to read about a sweet and beautiful love story between two characters that even if they're young, their feelings for each other are strong and they are learning together how to trust and build a relationship.
Same great writing, not to much angst or drama, love above all.

Were do you start when you have absolutely no power to find words for making justice to an amazing story that left you forever speechless? Because that's how I am now, just speechless.
Everyone is talking about this book, on every add, on every blog, on every group, it's the most anticipated book of the month and it has all the reasons in the world to be because what a great read to start the year with. Before a couple of months ago I mainly read historical romance, very few contemporary, but thanks to my amazing friends I've discovered another world of books and authors that are a must read now and LJ Shen is one of them.
When you start reading this book you have to leave everything aside, even if you are working, even if your kids need your attention ,even if your other half wants all of you then and there(just ignore him :)))), because you will be so absorbed in this book that everything fades ,just disappears around you.
As said I love historical romance and this book has so many things from all the regency and victorian royalties where they only care about their pears, the balls, jewellery, best designer gowns and to whom they should marry for more money, social rank and business partners as in this book are the parents of Francesca and as usual the main characters are dreaming for more than what their parents want. As for the love triangle I was so curious to see how this story will fold over so many layers with such distinct and different characters.
I love Francesca so much, even if she is only nineteen, a teenager you may say, not a real woman, she has so much to learn about life, still, she is such a strong character, smart and with a determination that only a few heroines are having at her age.
The author made her so reliable with the inner insecurities and all her dreams, desires and thoughts that you just can't believe she is so young and with so many feelings that I cried, I praise for her, I swear at them for being such stupid men, I wanted to throw my kindle over the window to my cloudy English sky and then reach for it the next second as I wanted to read more, to turn another page and finish this words that just blew my mind.
You have to read this book for all the feelings in the word, angst, lust, desire, heartbroken, putting all the pieces of your heart back together, for wanting to reach out and slap the heroes at times and just let them be ,but as an old wise proverb says: "You don't live if you don't risk",so yes,go and take all the risks in the world with this book and you won't regret anything.

Liana 4.5 stars
I went blind to read this book because is the first time that I read a book by this author but the blurb got my attention from the first lines.
I'm not the one who loves dark romance always but depending on my moods I will choose a book that hopefully will stay with me for a while and I am so glad that I choose it.
I loved the Shakespear's quotes for every chapter,i loved that we can read in dual point of views and although it's deconcentrating at times the flashbacks from the past mixed with present events, it made perfect sense and helped so much to build their relationship and grow the characters as well giving the reader the option to engage their imagination of had happened really and why (although I still don't understand about the Olivia/Eve/Don/Tom thing but hopefully the author will give us a hint after the release)
There are triggers, some people are not ready for it, there are secondary characters present which I would love to read about them from past books or in future stories,
there are very explicit and hot sex scenes,
twists and a very well wrap for this great story.
Ransom by Laramie Briscoe

5.0

Ransom is the first book in the new series LSERT by Laramie Briscoe and what a book to start with.
Another new to me author for this year and have been binge reading the MTF series in the last two months and loved it so of course, I had to read any new book from this author. Even if they are not connected, we can find characters from the previous series that are making an appearance in this book and was great to read about them again.
Ransom always worked hard to get his dreams to come true and he only wants two things in his life: his job and his childhood friend, Stella, who unfortunately sees him only as a family friend but as life is so unpredictable, he has to save her and becomes her hero.
Stella is frightened but when Ransom saves her she starts to see him as more than her childhood friend, starts to see him as a potential lover that she knows she won't have her heart broken because of his loyalty and dedication towards everything that counts for him and apparently her feelings are shared.

This book is more than Friends to Lovers and the sparks, attraction, banter, and chemistry with every page turned can be felt so strong as you're under the impression that your Kindle is on fire at times and had to have a cold drink for sure. Through their jobs, they are risking their lives every day but that doesn't mean love can't find a way in everyone's heart.
