DNF @ 80%. I tried but the world building felt like an advanced trig exam with incorrect answers, reading about the FMC was worse than washing my face with sandpaper, and I had no investment in the characters. Dont waste your time.

Wasn’t for me. Might give book 2 a shot.

5 star debut from Elle! This book had me hooked from the beginning, the plot is unique, and I was invested in the characters. What more can you ask for?

✨3.5✨ Fun and entertaining debut novel! The plot was a perfect mix of moving, entertaining, and pertinent. The characters are diverse and robust. I am looking forward to reading book 2 immediately!

Being back in Selennia and aboard the Bartered Soul stirred up in my heart why I love this series so much. This journey is unique and this novella honors the harsh reality of the beginning of this story. Erik is a softy who is having whiplash from falling so hard so quickly for a copper-haired priestess. Siobhan greets freedom with warmth and growth. I love what we began to see here of her.

LB, I'm not going to lie, I would LOVE to see where these characters go after the series ends as well ;)

I highly recommend this novella to anyone who has read Andromeda's Account. And if you haven't, please read, at least the first book, but better if all three, prior to this.
