its very encouraging to see the thoughts of the writer grow and change throughout the book tbh. makes me feel slightly less crazy

this is good. i think the poems speak to a really specific moment in time for the poet (written 10 years ago!) but i liked this much more than i thought i would. ennui is real. also separately jerrold has really nice eyebrows

i need to go back and bump down the last book bc i think this one was actually better. like i enjoyed it more and the plot twists were fun.

i haven’t made anything from this book yet so i’ll come back when i try a recipe but i really like it when authors 1) have distinct writing voices and 2) write about more than recipes in their books. anyway i enjoyed it and if the recipes are good i’ll enjoy it more i think. but i like the illustrations and the writing voice a lot it’s cute. also the stinkometer [LOCAL CHEESE FANS CHEERING]

4.25 feels slightly generous let’s say this is like a 4.1 for now. it’s a good strong web novel but i feel like some of the writing can be lecturey and didactic at points. also extremely normal story about a perfectly normal spaceship where nothing goes wrong. one of the most australian works of fiction of all time

strong comeback from mr riordan here but i also did finish this in like an hour+ maybe so idk if it’s all sunk in yet. i think percy’s moral of “we should let people make their own choices even if they’re contextually bad” is rly funny tho
