You can tell she is an expert in her field because she made such a complex field accessible to learn about. I felt like I learnt so much even if I was a bit too queasy for some of it..

The letters form Wedderburn and Bella were the most engaging in my HUMBLE opinion. I truly only cared fully when Bella was talking lol

Actually incredible book. I don’t tend to listen to audiobooks but I’m very glad I did because it adds to the experience greatly and helps you understand her perspective a lot more. The way the writing style matures as she ages throughout the book is wonderful even though obviously what she is going through is horrendous. She writes so beautifully about such a terrible situation and relationship. Genuinely one of the best books I’ve ever “read”.

I would recommend this book to everyone! It’s very engaging and has a very inviting writing style where you feel welcomed into the subject matter instead of being talked down to which reflects Ruth as a person well. I truly appreciate that even though Ruth, a straight woman, was the main storyteller, the gay men impacted by AIDS she cared for were almost always the centre of discussion. Several chapters are dedicated to stories of these wonderful men she cared for dearly and it felt like she truly understood that it was important to highlight their lives. This book will stick with me forever and will always leave me with so much to think about.

Okay.. Did I thoroughly enjoy reading this book? Absolutely!
… Is it very good? Who knows!
I was entertained throughout although I would prefer they pick up the pace cos dear loooorrrddd they were taking their sweet time to do anything. Bella and Edward actually had believable chemistry and I can visualise a socially awkward teenage girl like Bella pretty well so no complaints for her. Edward needs to stop growling though cos that’s so embarrassing.

I looovvveee this book! Every page felt like it needed to be there and it never dragged on. Shockingly made me actually invested in war strategy so you know the writing was good. Zhu was such an interesting character to follow and seeing her development was so cool. The whole range of characters are so diverse and intertwined together so well. Kinda hated everyone by the end but I still felt i could empathise with them even if they’re morals were very questionable.

No book has ever made me feel the way this book did. It is honestly one of the best books I have ever read. It is such a fun and interesting perspective on the workings of time travel that still manages to bring something new. The romance was so beautifully written and the love between the two characters makes my heart burst and break and feel full. The writing is absolutely impeccable and tells such a complex story in a way that is actually easy to follow considering how you are so instantly thrown into the action. So incredible

A very enjoyable read. The fast pace doesn’t make the book feel rushed but instead makes the writing flow and have a good rhythm to it. Michaela Coel is an incredible writer that is also such a talented storyteller.
