Keep It in the Family by John Marrs
3.0
I thought the overall premise of the book was good, but I wasn't as hooked as I've been with other books. I felt like this was so highly anticipated, and it let me down a little. The ending however did feel a little predictable after the unearthing of some facts toward the end of the book. ""For me at least , unpopular opinion I'm assuming""
I would definitely still read another book by @johnmarrs.author , I have another on my TBR list that I've heard great things about.

I thought this book ended up being great. The prolog gets you sucked in, wondering how a holiday themed book could ever I clouded a scene like that, but cmon - it's a thriller , so you know it's going to be like that. But then it's starts out so innocent and sweet, with an undertone of suspense for finding out Harry's secret. Then once the holidays hit, BOOM

This book follows a week in the life of a four country singer, Kayleigh Towne as she is coming back to her hometown to preform. Many unfortunate and disturbing events happen that seem to point to a fan stalking her, but is it truly him?
A friend in law enforcement joins up with the locals to get to the bottom of it and save Kayleighs life.
This book kept you guessing who actually was behind all the events. It had characters you loved to hate, and a few jaw dropping situations. It just didn't give me a crazy wow factor for me.

This book picks up after the climactic ending of Stillhouse Lake. Where Gwen and her children are running from her ex. I gave this book 4.5 stars because the last third of the book was very gripping, but the fist third mainly goes over what happened in the last book, and the second half seems to drag on, not adding alot of suspense like the first book did.
Don't get me wrong the ending made up for it. It was a great book.

This series has you on edge the whole book. Twists everywhere, not sure which character to trust, catching yourself yelling 'NO' at the book when she goes to answer a random knock at the door. Such great writing! I'm already starting the next book in the series as I type this review!
Do Not Disturb by Freida McFadden

Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!
This may have been my favorite book I read this year.
Freida is such a literary genius!
This book has so many twists and on the edge of your seat moments, you just can't put it down. It makes it such a quick read too.

The Dinner Guests by Kiersten Modglin

It's a story of 6️⃣ neighbors who get invited to a dinner party at the mysterious brand new neighbors house. Everything seems fine yet odd until BAM! The lights go out. Will they make it out alive?
Confessions of an Accidental Lawyer by Michael Stockham, Michael Stockham

I loves the legal thriller aspect of the book. I finished this one very quickly. It was half legal thriller and half family fertility conception struggles. Kind of a weird combo for me. I will definitely look into more legal thrillers from reading this but im not sure I'd say it's up for some of the hype I've seen it given.
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

This book was such a roller coaster. I love how Peter Swanson gets you hyped up every chapter almost getting what you want, then rips it away by starting a new POV with a new character and chapter. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book.
The story line was also very intriguing!
I know there is another book coming out early 2023 with some of the same characters, but it sounds like the story line will not continue where this book leaves off, which is a disappointing. I'd love to know what happens to Lily next! The ending was such a cliffhanger, I hope I am misunderstanding the plot of the next book!

The story itself was very intriguing and interesting, but the ending let me down. I found it predictable and lackluster. I felt that I could have thought up a better twist for a more interesting ending, otherwise the rest of the book was very well written.
