I never expected this duology to be as good as it turned out to be. I was very hesitant at first as I like to try keep expectations a bit lower but I was blown away by both books, especially book 2. I’m so happy I read these and I’ll forever remember these and keep them close to my heart.

Was it a bad book? No. Was it a good book? No. It was pretty mid, and the plot didn’t make much sense to me and the characters were pretty bland but the writing was beautiful.

I’m sorry but I don’t think bell hooks is for me. I didn’t like when she compared coming out about SA to greed for fame and money and I did not like the mention of encouraging her lesbian sister to keep in contact with their homophobic family.
