Had The Housemaid been my first book by McFadden, I think I’d be a bigger fan of her work, but there is still something very predictable about the outcomes of her stories. I am intrigued to see how the movie adaptation matches up to this one though and I think the casting is really going to help improve this story.

This was more religious based than I had thought it would be, making it less relatable.

Knight takes hard topics and makes them chewable with humor and bluntness. I found myself both reflecting and laughing throughout the book.
