Bossy by N.R. Walker

This was fun! Dad was expectedly made out to be the villain if you will but that was resolved well & this girl loves epilogues, especially when they indicate a HFN (though not my favorite with single stories) or show on page either a proposal, wedding/commitment ceremony or HEA. Ok. So this is not the first book that I’ve read that has addressed asexuality. What did surprise me about how the relationship is written was that while both MMCs identified as asexual, it was strictly in only one section or whatever of the spectrum. I also didn’t care for the group (at least those whose names were listed as speaking during share time) to seem like they were all this one number on the spectrum that the MMCs were, which is only interested in the companionship aspect of a relationship which seems very polarizing to me as I briefly thought asexual might fit me. Lastly, my brain battled with all my knowledge about the human body, especially how sensitive our hormones are male or female & how we can be deceived into thinking “we don’t like sex” as being something that just is, rather than looking into how a low libido & sex drive can be naturally & safely corrected. Ugh. 😑 so many thoughts. This story feels a bit rife with errors & not inclusive IMHO & I’m surprised that while Walker’s great character banter & side characters were fantastic, this is another big ball drop for me. Take that as you will. Listened via Hoopla Sac

Blue Collar MC!! I love when I find an author who can write a short story well, by giving enough context, a little relationship angst due to MMC2 having previous negative events happen. These guys are meant for each other & boy do I mean that. Now on to the next Walker book ☺️ listened via Hoopla Sac
Learning to Feel by N.R. Walker

This is a gay awakening (for MMC1), cosy, small town story. There is a bit of angst between the main characters but it’s resolved fairly quickly. Loved the dog Bentley & thought he was a great addition to this story. Listened via Hoopla Sac

This is a story about an abused Sub when his Dom “disciplines” using his hard limit. Then being transferred to a house with a soft Dom & Sub. I felt great care was used in writing this book & enjoyed it immensely. First book narrated by Nick J Russo & he did a fantastic job bringing it to life. Listened via Hoopla Harrison Memorial

😅 this was a fun & great series to read. Loved the prolonged epilogue & it was okay that they only had one kid. Personally, would have liked to see them have two but…I digress. I really loved the “ranch” setting, as I grew up watching The Man From Snowy River & the 2nd movie & then as an adult falling in love with the McLeod’s Daughters series. Joel Leslie was a surprise for me as I’ve only heard him read a couple American English books & didn’t care for the narration. Listened via Hoopla Harrison Memorial/Carmel.

Oh oh oh! I won’t spoil this one but man! in all honesty, aside from a few books that for one reason or another made me unhappy or gave me bad feelings. This series however, gives me McLeod’s Daughters vibes about 2 half sisters running the family ranch in the Outback & now with 1 book left at least audio wise of this series; I am so not ready to leave Sutton Station & all it’s beautiful family of characters, found & biological. So moving forward let’s see what book 4 has for me! Listening via Hoopla Harrison Memorial

I know why so many of my online bookish friends love this author. Anyway, love Sutton Station & looking forward to reading more about this place. Listening via Hoopla Harrison Memorial/Carmel

Oh I now understand completely why everyone in my main book club absolutely loves this book. Personally, I don’t care for the enemies-to-lovers trope but every so often I’m surprised by a new to me author & how they constructed the story. I am really enjoying Glen Lloyd’s narration & the life he brings to each book. Now, on to whichever one next… maybe a series like Red Dirt Heart. Listened via Hoopla Harrison Memorial
