holy buckets

Man, I knew I liked SJM’s books, but I was not ready for this.

Such a long and emotional rollercoaster. I’m not ready for the next book, but obviously I’ll be starting that expeditiously. I don’t really know what else to say besides WOW.

fewer tears, more twists

I’m so glad I timed reading this with the HOFAS release, because I don’t think I can wait much longer to figure out what happens next.

SJM sure can write a twist, however I would like to say, I totally called the identity of Agent Daybright. Not at first, and I was jumping back and forth between two people, but leaning more toward what ended up being the correct answer. I’m really interested to see what Ruhn does with that information, if he gets the chance to do anything.

HOFAS

Okay so I did like it. I really did. But damn it dragged.

Maybe I shouldn’t have read all three in a marathon. There were a few new surprises and a lot of resolutions. I do now have a strong desire to reread the rest of SJM’s books, but I’m going to give it some time, I’ve got a long TBR.

I have been wanting to read Butcher and Blackbird for a while. I had the audiobook and bought a physical copy to hopefully encourage myself to take it off my TBR.

FINALLY started reading it over the weekend because I was going on a bit of a drive and the other books I’m reading weren’t available as audiobooks. So glad I finally read this book. It’s so funny and super cute.

yes. absolutely yes.

I LOVED this story. All the various nods to horror films. It’s a modern day slasher with a diverse case. Great twists! If you enjoy 80s/90s slasher films, this book is dope.

actually adorable

This was so cute and pretty dang hot. It was honestly spicier than I expected because SO many recs for this book said it’s mild. It is, but it’s still

I got to read the Patreon early release. This was SO good. Katee is absolutely stunning. I’ve loved everything they’ve written so far, and this series might be my favorite. I’m always impressed by how she handles trauma. Now I’m even more desperate for Daddy Azazel’s book.

stunning

I was invited to a meet the author event with Kaveh Akbar, so I figured I’d better read his book before I go.

I wasn’t entirely sure about it at first. It felt too smart for me, but I switched from ebook to audiobook which helped me get through it easier. I am really glad I did. The perspective and time shifts kind of threw me off at first, but eventually the flow started to make sense and the story started to unfold and it was like a beautiful piece of art.

I’m on fire

Good golly this book is hottttt. I’m a huge Katee fan, I’m pretty sure that’s been made clear but got damn they just deliver and deliver and deliver. I don’t know why I didn’t read this one sooner but I’m glad I did.

Oh my gosh. This book was so freaking good. I’m a big fan of regency romances, but a queer regency romcom??? Hell yes. I had a few good belly laughs and boy did the spice go out there and spice.
