This was a cute read. My favorite part were all the little Beauty and the Beast references/quotes and the reference to Fangirl made me laugh! This is the third book in a series. However, I did not read the first two and it works 100% fine as a standalone.
One of Rosie’s best friends is nonbinary. Her dad is bisexual. Vance is bisexual.
Rosie’s mom passes a year prior to the start of the book.
There is no “spice” in this book but the teen girl characters discuss reading/writing smut online. At one point I think the dad gave one of the girls a book with smut in as well.
There was some wisdom in this book but also some bits that felt off to me. As a result, it won’t be one I recommend to Christians newly exploring practicing hospitality.
I read a review recently that said, “You know it’s a good book if you read the acknowledgements”. Well, I read the acknowledgments. This book was a true delight— funny, charming, heartwarming, and endearing. Perfectly atmospheric for Autumn and with a good message. I will definitely be recommending this one! I read it in two days because I couldn’t put it down!
