Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell
4.0
As an English Grad who studied rhetoric and the power of language, I found this to be pretty interesting.
It reminded me of the book Words Like Loaded Pistols: Rhetoric from Aristotle to Obama, but with a focus more on cults than only rhetoric.

A Tasty Dish by Kelly Cain

I was not expecting this to be as spicy as it was. The beginning was a little too fast, I felt like I didn't get as much world building right off the bat. For a quick romance, this was decent. I feel like the main part of this book was the smut, which is not what I usually look for in a book. I feel like there could've been deeper conversations with the other characters and it would've been nice to see the scenes at the competition.
And We Rise by Erica Martin

Some of these poems were graphic in the descriptions and could be triggering. In all honesty though, most of American history is triggering so it can't really be avoided.
Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

This book had me crying over the death of a woman I never met and wanting to try all the Korean food described.
This Time Will Be Different by Misa Sugiura

This was a lot heavier than I thought it would be. I expected a lighthearted romcom and instead was faced with very serious topics.
CJ was annoying in the beginning, but her growth felt authentic and I liked the person she became in the end.
