I've re read this book many times and is probably the first time I decided I wanted to be a microbiologist. Well written only reason it's not a 5 out of 5 is the end is always meh. Like the last page or two fizzle but. But the scene describing a BSL 4 is so accurate and chilling I can't shake it all these years later.

What a book! I loved every second every moment every well crafted sentence and phrase. My heart swoons and I just was desperately in love. I haven't read a book like this in so long that made me feel everything. I can't wait to re read this beautiful lovely book.

The book is simple yet what is said is deeply important. It has a lot of layered meanings and it felt unique to read about my home through the eyes if an outsider.

I feel like as a book for leisure it's okay but maybe as an analysis of all of CS Lewis and his religious thought it'd be fascinating. May have to revisit

The length can be a turn off for some but I still highly recommend. It is an amazing book full if wonderful ideas and thoughts regarding magic etc. It is a gripping read when taken in pieces and then placed together.
