I started off this series loving Agatha Raisin and the side characters. The village atmosphere made me want to live there, despite the murders. But the last few books have been less than mediocre. Agatha Raisin has turned to the most annoying person. The beloved side characters are snippy. Everyone is rude to everyone else. There is no character growth. Each book is the same old with a new murder. And things from one book are forgotten in the next. I hate to say this after 23 books with only 7 more to go, but I’m done with Agatha Raisin. Sorry Aggie, but we are through.

Jestem totalnie nieobiektywna. To nie jest ani wybitna literatura ani doskonały, zaskakujący kryminał, ale jest dla mnie tak relaksująca, jak filmiki z pandami albo pieskami albo krówkami.

A classic Aggie Adventure, still so so mad about the mixing up of Simon Black's character though!

This was not my favorite Agatha Raisin novel. The story line was interesting but the dialog seemed very forced in many places in the book. Also, although Agatha is famous for getting herself into ridiculous situations, many times in this book it seemed like MC Beaton was getting lost in the story and would throw in something that was completely off the wall in order to get the story line back on track, such as a seemingly random visit from Roy for a very small tidbit of information in order to push the story in the direction that the author wanted to go.
