I've been staring at my computer screen off and on for a good 15 minutes trying to decide what to say about this book. It's an Agatha Raisin Mystery. I can't wait for Simon to move on. For such a blunt woman, Agatha sure is utterly incapable of articulating her needs to the people in her life. But, I still look forward to reading the next book.

Four stars for Davina Porter's audiobook narration. It can be off-putting when a long-time narrator of a lengthy series is replaced, making it difficult to judge the new narrator on her own merits. I found Porter to be perfectly adequate. I don't love the choice to interpret female characters with a breathy voice, but Porter is a good reader, which is the most important thing (I've always said I'd rather publishers pick a good reader over a good voice actor).

Agatha Raisin is at it again. She's fallen in love with George Marston, a wounded war veteran, who has moved into her village in the Cotswolds. The problem is that George, while very friendly, is apparently willing to have either a flirtation or an affair with every mature women in their village except for Agatha. And then George's body is found in his compost heap and Agatha is a suspect. Naturally she springs into action and drags the members of her detective agency into action with her. A quick, amusing read.

Once again Agatha gets a case and tries to solve it with the help of her friends and neighbours. Love the whole lot of characters in this series especially Sir Charles and Mrs Bloxby. Anyone who loves Aggie will love this.

Anyone else kind of hoping Simon Black gets murdered? What a douche.

I felt like something was missing from this book. Not sure if it was the memento, character development, or what, but I just couldn't wait to get done with this book.

Review - I hated Jessica right from the beginning, one of those typical snobbish celebrities, but I actually kind of liked George, which was weird. Toni grows on me more with every book, but I'm beginning to really hate Roy. It was a bit of a different mystery with the celebrity angle, and the different method of death. I also really liked how we saw more of Simon, even though he does get on my nerves, and we see how celebrity culture works from the inside.
