Omg this series just was insane!!! I can't believe it's over and how it ended! I swear she channeled her inner George R.R. Martin. Like what the heck dude!!!
Okay so I've always struggled with Radu and still did throughout this book but I loved Lada's story and her side of things. She was the main reason I stuck through and read these books! I love and hate how the book ended because it was one of those non perfect endings, but it didn't need more.. except I just wanted to keep reading more of it!

Since finishing the second book in the series, Now I Rise, last year (you can read my full review here), I have been anticipating the third and last book in the series quite a bit! I decidedly did not look into Vlad and Radu Dracul’s histories for clues, in case there would be spoilers, and just sat on my hands (as the saying goes) until the beautiful hardcover for Bright We Burn came in the mail! I started reading this beauty last week, and from the first chapter, I could tell that White’s writing had improved yet again (I made mention of this happening from book one to book two as well)! I was very happy about this, and the way in which White told the story through many complex historical events and happenings. The characters also developed yet further, and it all felt quite natural from And I Darken to Bright We Burn. I also missed Lada, Mehmed, and Radu quite a bit, and was happy to spend more time with them! I’ve been with these characters from the start, and feel like I have grown along with them.
All of them developed in a very believable way (whether I liked the paths they chose or not), and never once did I question their choices or whether they stayed in character or not. I also have to say that Radu has definitely grown on me since the first book (since my feelings for him changed from dislike in And I Darken,to respect and something close to adoration in Bright We Burn). Lada, I absolutely loved throughout the series, even if some of her decisions frustrated me, while my love for Mehmed slowly decreased from book one to book three. Plot-wise, I think that Bright We Burn (and the series as a whole) developed in a very believable manner, and while I did not expect the ending, I was engrossed by how things unfolded, and thought that the manner in which the story ended was very credible. I am very happy to have been able to keep up with this series, and to have walked with Lada, Radu, and Mehmed as they followed their individual destinies. This tale’s ending was in no way rushed, and I really like how things were wrapped up, but that in no way stopped me from missing the series and the major characters quite a bit after closing Bright We Burn for the very last time!

The end of a series is always so bittersweet because I've gotten so attached to the characters and it's so nice to see where their story brings them but sad to know that I won't (at least in most cases) be reading about them anymore. This ending was on a whole other level. My heart is so broken and this book just completely destroyed me. This was definitely the right end to the series the characters actions felt real and the conclusion just makes a lot of sense. I'm just going to go crawl in a hole and try and deal with all the feelings this book gave me.

The ending was a little anti-climatic for me but overall an amazing conclusion to the trilogy.

I was a bit nervous when I saw how much shorter Bright We Burn was compared to the first two books. However, Kiersten White wraps this trilogy up perfectly and stays true to her characters.
I'm not going to lie, Lada went full throttle in this book. It was honestly a little scary seeing her become so absorbed in her violence. It was like she had blinders on.
Radu finally found some self-respect which was nice to see. However, I don't like all the choices he made. He felt a little bit like a bully. I know it's hypocritical because Lada did some very hurtful things, but his actions just upset me more. I feel like it's probably because he's always made out to be the "nice" character and then he made some very. . . interesting choices.
Mehmed was interesting to see because he seemed to finally realize that his choices had pushed both siblings away. I think he didn't fully realize that in the second book, but now Radu is no longer fawning over him and Mehmed is at war with Lada.

Fantastic!
What a fantastic way to end the series. I adored this series from start to finish. The characters were strong and well written. The plot was balanced and paced quite well. I definitely recommend this series.

The finale to the The Conqueror's Saga did not disappoint BUT just left me wanting more! I know it finished with a epilogue but maybe the characters still have some story left in them!?
