The writing style is like a good friend telling me some tea over a cup of coffee ☕️. The entire friend group is incredibly shallow, unlikeable, and M E S S Y.

This book is labelled as a mystery/thriller, but it was more comedic than anything else. I did not feel any lick of suspense the way I normally do with books of this genre.

I enjoyed this for the drama, but the actual plot and “big reveal” felt way under developed. It cut short as if the author gave up towards the end. It is a quick read though. Easy plus +1 for your reading goal!

One star for an enticing looking cover picture. The was an Amazon first reads choice, so at least it was free. I only got about 1 hr into the book and did not finish. Entitled, rich, miserable characters. Terrible writing style. Even the prologue was hard to read.

It wasn’t necessarily slow-paced, but I was not a fan of the writing. A good 70% of the book was all character backstory, and honestly, if it was all taken out, the story could still be told. All the excessive backstory did nothing to add to the plot. The ending felt very uneventful too. I liked the book enough to finish it.
