I have to admit when I started reading the series, I thought Agatha was going to be a sweet, lovable character.....
Was I wrong! She is abrasive, rude, and insecure.... and she grows on you, by the end of the book I really liked her, probably why I'm already on the third book.... The book started with Agatha trying to endear herself to the village she has just moved to... how is she going to do this? Win The quiche baking contest... what is the problem with this? She can't bake.... so she does what any of us would do put in this position, purchases a quiche and tries to pass it off as her own.... The problem is The quiche kills the judge... and because she is now being accused by her new neighbors of murder, she takes it upon herself to try to solve the mystery.... I enjoyed her sleuthing .... and the characters introduced along the way especially Bill and Roy....

LOVE the tv show, this was a let down, I much prefer the tv Agatha and I hate how is this period of crime wiriting in order for women to be good at their job they must be some mix of annoying, rude, “fat” in a derogatory way, ugly etc, I’m all for size inclusivity and would LOVE to read about a midsize/ plus size women solving crime as long as she’s not spoke about/ speaks about herself in such a derogatory way as if she is unlovable because she fat, newsflash she’s not.

I had such high hopes for this book and ngl it was a let down, I’ll stick to the tv show! Also this didn’t really feel like a murder mystery? Maybe I should have expected that but I won’t read the rest
