I was looking for a bit of funny fluff, but this book was obnoxious. I wish the main character had owned her body instead of always wishing she was different.

I really wanted to love this book, but though it had a lot of potential it missed the mark for me.

This book was a quick and enjoyable read. Think Sookie Stackhouse ([b:Dead Until Dark|301082|Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1)|Charlaine Harris|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1311115565s/301082.jpg|479517]) meets Bridget Jones ([b:Bridget Jones's Diary|227443|Bridget Jones's Diary (Bridget Jones, #1)|Helen Fielding|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1292060045s/227443.jpg|3185154]) with a love interest in the vein of Jamie Frasier ([b:Outlander|10964|Outlander (Outlander, #1)|Diana Gabaldon|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1304187141s/10964.jpg|2489796]) and another love interest that makes Eric Northman's manipulations (i.e. in [b:All Together Dead|140075|All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7)|Charlaine Harris|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1172114925s/140075.jpg|3159810]) look downright innocent. Win! It isn't high literature, but the writing is pretty solid and it was a fun concept with good characters and interesting details (running a vintage store, going to night vampire church, etc). I'm really looking forward to the next book.

If half-star ratings were allowed, I'd give this novel 2 1/2. I had a hard time getting into it. It's sort of cute, but a bit tedious.

Okay- it might be time for me to take a break from the vampires though :)

Nice, somewhat predictable paranormal romancy type fiction. I haven't fallen in love with any of the characters ala Vampire Eric, but I will give the series a few more books to get me hooked.

Eric...sigh

If this had been half as long, it might have been a decent story. But as is it was kinda lame, drug stuff out, repeated stuff a lot, and wasn't that thrilling. The second one sounds much better, which is the only reason I finished this one.

Oh, I almost forgot. The bad grammer in here about did me in. One phrase in particular that kept coming up - "shook up" NO NO NO! Shaken up! It's shaken! See, that kinda drove me up the wall.

I really enjoyed this book, I mean a vamp story and the leading lady isnt a toothpick size zero whats not to love. She is a real woman with curves and a brain and I loved her.
