Thanks to Kevin, who was obsessed with this series when he was 11 and forced me to read one. Anthropomorphism is normally a deal-breaker for me and a book, but I'd read anything for Kevin, and actually feel greatly in debt to him that I did. The best moment in teaching English is when you put the right book in the hands of the right kid. So often this was that book.

Read at bedtime with daughter. Talking animals get into scrapes and have adventures, with much derring-do along the way. There's heroes, villains and a quest for justice, all broken into nice little digestible episodes. Just as much fun as I remembered from my childhood. Highly recommended for fantasy/adventure-loving 8-12 y.o. readers.
