Very dark book.
Bianca was serving and do you know what it wasn’t the cannibalism that was bad. It was Theo being a hypocrite and a tad annoying and the narrative structure which was jumpy at the beginning I struggled to settle in and at times slowed the pacing but I feel like it did even out.
I loved Bianca and Vlads friendship. Curious about Vlads book.
However for me personally not enough time was spend on the relationship. I would say this is more plot heavy which I don’t mind but some people might.
Graphic: Child abuse, Death, Drug abuse, Drug use, Gore, Gun violence, Rape, Sexual content, Suicide, Torture, Violence, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Cannibalism, Murder, and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Pedophilia, and Rape
Minor: Bullying

The beginning was so intriguing and what draw me to the story in the first place. Sadly it's rare that the FMC gets to be the more unhinged of the two protagonists (I would like to experience this more often in dark romance books), and something I still like this very much about the book.
The second half, and especially Theo in the second half, lost some of it's original appeal for me. It takes aspects of Theo away that made him who he was in the beginning of the book. I think, overall the story goes into an interesting direction in the second half as well, but it definitely managed to catch my interest less than the first half.
The book should have just ended with chapter 54. 55 and the epilogue? Unnecessary, over the top, did not enjoy.
Tropes:
- serial killer x cop
- sociopathic FMC
- hidden identities
- addiction
- forced proximity
- horror and gore
- age gap
- dominant man
- dual PoV
TW: cannibalism

The back and forth between Bianca and Theo was cute.
He's the savior and she's an apparent damsel in need of rescue from her father....but is she?
The twists and turns and secret identities was entertaining.
Absolutely check the list for tw's. This book deals with some pretty heavy themes....basically starting in chapter 1.
Touch him/her and d!3
Decent spice
Mob
And even a few surprises.
It's a great read if you don't have many hang ups....
But honestly can we get more on Vlad???

First of all, wow, a bad ass female lead, gangs, drugs, underground fighting and so much more. Bianca Ashby is a cold blooded killer with a weakness, her husband, the police chief commissioner.
It was the perfect mix of mystery, mafia, hot and dangerous. I did find myself annoyed with Theo, he was so judgemental even though he has secrets of his own. He isn't the Saint be pretends to be. However towards the end I did find him much more appealing and less... well bitchy.
I highly recommend this book, it was such a great read that had me hooked. There were so many layers and plot twists that I honestly expected it to be full of plot holes and questions but it came together so nicely at the end even so far as to linking in the prologue which I often find is ignored. Massive praise to the author for that one.
As always with books like these, please check the trigger warnings and don't read if you think it'll be something that upsets you.

This is a gripping and intense read that is perfect for fans of dark and twisted romance, particularly those who enjoy exploring the complexities of morally ambiguous characters and the blurred lines between good and evil, as well as those who appreciate a fast-paced and suspenseful story with a strong female protagonist.

Stick With It!!!
I really struggled to get through the first few chapters of this book, but once the book found its stride, it took off.
The story is dark and twisted, just how I like it, so make sure you check the TWs before diving in.
The FMC isn't neurotypical which becomes pretty obvious early on thanks to the author's style of writing. She's innocent, funny and bad a$$ all rolled into one - quite the achievement! The lengths this FMC will go to for her MMC is extra!
The twists and turns this book takes will have you gasping, and of course, the spice will be spicy...
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and was glad to find out that there are other books from the same universe.
I have knocked a star off because of the struggle through the first few chapters but don't let that put you off.
